Jonathan Ross is leaving the BBC

I really like Rossy, and I think it's a shame that it's become the norm to show anamosity towards him since the 2008 incident. He's a loving family man, and a unique entertainer. Very funny and quick witted, a lot of his best lines on FNWJR are improvised off the back of something a guest has said.

I think it's a shame that England has shunned him for one mistake. I'll definitely miss him.
Agreed. But England hasn't. Crappy papers like the Daily Mail have been trying to drive the BBC into the ground for a long time now. It looks like they're finally getting their way. People have to realise that you have to pay big stars big and similar wages to what they're worth at other channels. The same goes for the directors, producers, chairmen etc..

Did you know that a runner/teaboy starting at BBC Post Production gets 18k compared to 12k at any other company? Why aren't people up in arms about that, eh? Ross is an easy target and he's clearly got fed up with it. Good luck to him at CH4 (I presume).

I always found that he would waste his high profile guests and talk absolute rubbish with them, he tries to hard to be funny and have no idea how he is one of the BBC's highest paid stars. Guess that says something about the BBC, he should have been axed months ago!!

So this probably means we will see him on Channel 4 then

Much as I'm going to miss Jonathon Ross, I'd quite like to see Johnny Vaughan make a proper TV comeback. I don't care if he is bald now. I've also got a strange urge to see what someone like Chris Tarrant could do with the format.

Shame to see him go, He was a staple safe bet of a show that was going to be at worst OK and sometimes excellent - for me that is :)

James King would be a possible Film 2010 presenter for me... as for Friday Night no idea, but if it ends up being Alan Carr or Norton then I wont be watching again.

Usually watch his Friday night show if I'm around, but have grown bored of it lately,he seems to churn out the same guests and ask the same questions year in year out! with only a sprinkling of fresh faces.

Rarely if ever watch his film night so won't miss it!

Although he cites non-financial reasons, whats the betting he miraculously appears on a new ITV or Sky showing in the not too distant future?

It's obvious that he was never going to be allowed to be himself again on the BBC, I would doubt it was financially motivated. Why are so many people in the country so concerned about money and famous people's salaries?

It was not a mistake. It was entertainment!
Too all of the morons who rang in to complain, i say to you; go **** yourselves!

And that bint of a grand daughter Sach's has got needs a slap!

The BBC has turned into a hopeless Politically Correct heap of junk which costs me !

He wasn't going to stay that long after the Radio "prank", It has nothing to do with money. It 's just that the Beeb must have been keeping him on such a short string re; what he can and can't say.

He'll be able to walk in to another job I imagine, on a similar salary.

What people earn at the BBC does in part bug me, because we essentailly pay their wages, I for one don't think Ross is worth his wage, but plenty of people who also pay would think that he is worth it. Swings and round abouts.

That's all I'm bothered about. I hope the show isn't axed or given a really **** presenter. Having said that I can't think of anyone that could replace him on that show.

Ross is complete crap on it. It gets cringeworthy watching him suck up to people and it gets even worse when they are on his Friday night show and he sucks up to them some more. They should just give it to Mark Kermode or somebody who actually knows about films.
