As above, with the reports of drugs in the past and then constant complaints, just say they're dealing with the many people coming round.

Move.

Sure, people will flame me for that but seriously, its not as if she's going to change into an Oxbridge graduate overnight is it? You are ALWAYS going to have issues.

Moving would be nice but we have just finished decorating, buying a new kitchen and it's cheap there for a 3 bed flat. It's a council flat so we had to buy everything and decorate everything, was nothing but plasterd walls and concrete floors when we moved in.

If all else fails im just going to wait till they are on the landing again and hose them down with nice cold water from the jet washer

If you are going to initiate countermeasures be prepared for war!

Try and get other residents co-operation and help on this. Organise a meeting amongst yourselves.

All the residents need to get together and complain as a body to the council and generally keep harassing the council till something is done.

you didn't ring 999 bout noise and drugs did you? cause they won't do anything, you're more likely to try your local number, they're more willing on these issues, but does sound rough, I have similar issues with my brother who I live with, and sadly, some people are just inconsiderate tossers :/

It's always a difficulty when you have anti-social neighbours but police have absolutely no powers to deal with excess noise whatsoever.

Such complaints need to be taken up with the local authority as they have the equipment to measure noise and also the remit to deal with it.

Nuneaton Council. Ask for the anti-social dept or who ever deals with noisy neighbours. 024 7637 6376.

Keep a diary. Make a note of dates, times, excess noise, parties etc.

As for the mention of cannabis use, ring your local nick and find out who the local beat officer is. You could always arrange a meeting with him / her to discuss your problem.

Anti-Socail dept. stops sending people out after 2am. So all they can do is log the calls so they know we phoned, but nothing gets done.

We are also keeping a notepad with dates/times etc. And altho im sure this will help with lots on info, it wont help us sleep. I can live withought sleep for a few nights, i can sleep threw annything except hearing my daughter cry (Damn the love for your own lol) But it's just not fair on her, she is only 14 months old.

No not 999. It was our local police station (a hole 5min drive down the road too)

You see this kind of situation is exactly what leads to a more serious situation and yet police dont want to know?

we had a similar issue a few years back when I lived with the rents, neighbours were having a massive party, some ended up coming into our garden to hide someone's phone, a neighbour from across the street saw, came out, took the phone (as they didn't know what it was at the time, drugs, knife etc) called the police who fobbed him off for a bit till he said "oh I think I just heard one mention they had a knife" they were there within minutes, I can understand police don't always have the resources and if there's a major emergency then it'd be an issue if all teams are out dealing with noisy neighbours or little old ladies who think the trees are plotting against them :p

but it's very annoying when people are just plain Bar studs about it and you get frustrated from going in circles :/

Takes councils months if not a good few years to act on anti social neighbours, you can put in complaint after complaint and they can dish out warning after warning but they get off more or less scott free.

Our street has had a lot of trouble with one family and after 5 years now they are still there and the council wont move them on.

I have had this issue in the past with noises neighbours. Basically the police will do nothing unless you repeatedly call them or they have a mass of complaints from different flats. If you suggest that it seems that you have seen people passing money and drugs at the door of the flat it might be a different story but otherwise they will do nothing. Im not suggesting you say that unless you see it but from what you say it strikes me as that could well be the story if it continues.

Talk to your neighbours and ask them to start a log of the noise. Simple bit of paper noting down the times of the music, noise, people hanging around in the communal hall ways etc etc. If they have more then 1 people with your log matching then this is invaluable if presented to your landlord or if it goes to court. Landlords and courts will not take sides until they have enough proof and wont do anything without this because its more your word vs theirs until this point. I have heard that recently not 100% on this that after so many call noise control or what ever its called in your area now have the power to remove stereos making the noise after x amount of complaints. I only have heard this from one of my old neighbours that recently had this issue so this is more word of mouth. Maybe someone can confirm this.

I can understand how fed up you because you would really think that if you have told them its to loud they would adjust the music and not go louder then that in the future.

I had a great neighbour once who knocked my door and asked if he could see how loud his stereo could go before I started hearing it in my flat. This system worked really well as we both knew what level not to exceed. And when either one of us was having friends or a party we would tell each other. I guess you could approach her when she doesn't have "friends" there to explain the issue and maybe suggest this approach. I mean i guess you wouldn't mind the noise if its was only like once a month or something at a lower level. The problem is with a lot of young people they are influenced by their friends who come around and as they don't live there don't give a **** about the people that live in the surrounding area so generally act up.

If i was in your shoes I would speak to all the surrounding flats and start a log. Hopefully it will stop when the landlord starts to take action and in most cases they will likely move on if they continue to get complaints with the landlord putting pressure on them. But if you have a crap landlord don't expect this to be a quickly process.

Good luck I guess is all I can say now.

Cheers Duggan. Meeting the guy from the above flat tonight so i will put this forward to him and speak to the others.

Just got of the phone to the misses and it seems noice control had a lot of complaints about said flat last night. This annoys me even more that they didn't bother to come out. So ill also be asking what time people phone. And if before 2am i think ill be putting in a complaint about them too for not taking action on the complaints as they are supose to come out and messure the noise levels and if deemed to loud they take action. Well thats what the are suposed to be there for anyway

I know exactly what to do, all you'll need it about 10 packets of polos and a bit of stealth.
Once everyone next door is in bed eat the polos, all of them, fast, about half an hour later you will have intense need to fire out a foul smelling putrid running ****.
Go to herdoor and open the letterbox, back up and aim your hole to fire through.
Now let it rip.

Who wants to wake up after a nights partying and clean up a massive pile of bum gravy shot about 10 feet through the door.

When they're all out in your landing, call the police and tell them you're pretty sure you saw one of them passing a knife around. That may keep them quiet the rest of the night.

You can also keep calling noise control until they close. Call once every 15 minutes. They HAVE to answer each and every call so once you've sufficiently annoyed them, they'll be more likely to do something just to get rid of you.

It's always a difficulty when you have anti-social neighbours but police have absolutely no powers to deal with excess noise whatsoever.

Its diff up here then (Scotland).... If a noisy party complaint is made, the cops will go round and warn the occupants of the house to keep it down.

If it happens again then they have the power to enter the house by force and seize ALL noise making equipment (tv's, stereo's, PC's, musical instruments etc etc etc) and hold it for, IIRC, 28 days at the local office.

Canadian police have more power as well. They can't enter the premises without permission, but they can give a warning and then if they have to return due to further complaints, they can issue a huge fine and clear the party out.

I would have thought thats how all stations should operate or is that just me? Think your cops would have a road trip to the midlands? :p

 Nothing they can do about illegal drugs:eek:
Sounds like a utterly incompetent police force.

They are probably busy enough trying to keep it off the street.

CID may be informed though I guess. Guessing though.

Richie - The police generally don't do anything until the council have been round with a DB meter afaik.

Just gave me a thought acctually. To add to the notes ill get the DB meter app for my iPhone and take screenshots so they can see how loud it acctually is if the still dont come round

Hate to think what would happen if I was you, I think I'd end up in more bother with the police than the dope smoking chavvy scummers next door would.
But there would be no more noise, I could guarantee that :D
