I sweat a lot.

I use Anhydrol Forte, similar stuff, but it doesn't really hurt me at all anymore, just a slight itch when I use it. And I only use it like once a month, if that.

havent tried driclor but im currently trying Odaban. first week and seems to be working so far.

I bought perspirex but couldnt use it as it says you cant until 48 hours after shaving :( (waste of £5!!)
but with odaban on their website it says you dont have to wait the usual 24 hours just dont shave directly before or after.

But obviously as a man you don't have to worry about that ;)

I don't get how these work. Do you just sweat more from other pores? It can't *stop* you needing to sweat, so what happens instead?
I'm after personal experiences really - I've read netdoc already!

So even after a shower, and deodorant (antiperspirant stuff) I sweat. Now it is probably partly due to me being a bit overweight, but I am working on that, and it is a long term thing, several months. Ideally I would like to stop the sweating asap.

I would like some recommendations on products that are readily available from tesco and not obscenely priced. I don't care if the stuff blocks my pores, I'll just sweat out my arse more, that's okay.

Also, I'm not a stinky person, my sweat doesn't smell and I never have BO, it is just annoying, as it is coming up to summer, which means t-shirt weather, which means I can't lift my arms very high due to massive sweat patches. This obviously causes massive dent in my confidence, due to me knowing that people who see the patches just think I smell and don't shower.

TIA

Go on a DRASTIC diet dude. I mean 4 lbs per week. The loss in weight will work better than any medicine. And you'll feel amazing for the summer.

Every time you want to eat something, think: am I really hungry, and why do I want this burger or cheese taco?

I'm using Odaban at the moment as I get excessive sweating on my forehead when exercising but at no other time. I've been using it for a week and it stopped the excessive sweating after the first use. I still sweat when exercising but its just a normal amount of sweat rather than dripping with the stuff after a light jog and it takes a lot longer for the sweating to start. I haven't noticed any compensatory sweating. There's an explanation about this on their website http://www.odaban.com/How.asp?Language=1.

I used that perspirex stuff quite a few times but had to stop for months as I came out in a horrendous red rash.

I think maybe when I applied it my pits weren't fully dry and boy did it itch.

I don't seem to sweat as much now since I' used to use the stuff.

Now I just tend to use this strange rock crystal thing that you just wet and rub into your pits.

No idea how it works it just does hehe.

Lynx Dry - I used to sweat loads but now I don't really because of it. No idea if it's really bad for me or anything though.

No offence but thats not really the same as the OP, if lynx dry stops you sweating you dont have a sweat problem, we are talking about huge amounts of sweat here, not the odd dash thats soaked up by a supermarket deodrant.

Na I know what you mean, I really did, like just a walk outside would have me with sweat patches nearly the whole way round my t shirt! But it might be me having grown up too - but the Lynx dry was remarkably good...

driclor works like a wonder for me, it's amazing! I used to sweat a lot from my armpits but not anymore since using driclor. I still sweat from my head and from the small of my back but I put it down being overweight.

To lose 4lbs a week and not end up a weakling i would have to devote my life to weight lifting and fitness. They say if you lose more than 2lbs a week then it is your muscle deteriorating.

I used driclor for about a year, around 18 ago. Worked really well. And no I`m not overweight, I do and did exercise more than 3 times a week...etc, i just perspired like a fountain from my arm pits the 2nd i felt slightly hot. Not sure exactly what has changed, but right guard does the job fine now and I never needed to use the driclor again.

It really is effective, but be prepared for some arm pit burning the first few times you use it :D

*ignore the personal attacks, really not sure why it started, some people should need a license for the internet and the report a post button is there for such people

Urgh, how can anyone recommend this product. Only time I used it, it failed miserably at reducing the volume of sweat and not only that, the outcome was it FUBAR'd my clothes.

I won't be able to get to any shops till next monday, but i'll be sure to update then, see if this pain is just poppycock made up to sort the men from the mice.

I too suffer from hyperhidrosis. I was given anhydrol forte by my docter a few years back but that stopped working, so I tried Odaban, that stopped working too, then I moved onto Driclor which again stopped working, finally I gave Sweatstops Spray (extreme version) a go, that never really worked :/

As you can imagine it is very frustrating; both in terms of how the treatment regime is progressing and how the condition impacts every day life. Although I appreciate my condition is not as severe as others, and in the grand scheme of things there are many worse conditions that I could have.

In retrospect, to some of those who are perspiring due to physical exertion and heat, that is normal. To those who are cold yet still sweat and wear jumpers/jackets in the summer to cover sweat patches, you may have hyperhidrosis!

I can't even remember the last time I went out in just a T-shirt....
