I'd never seen her so upset and she stormed off saying she wasn't ready to go out and she would have to change because she couldn't go in what she was wearing
Maybe it wasn't what you COULD see that meant she couldn't go out in what she was wearing... Might have had a wee surprise in store for you later that night which she thought, although appropriate for the home, not appropriate to wear out

Absolutely dead right, none whatsoever.
I've given up asking my OH to do the washing up. Never did it straight away - ensuring all the leftover dirt becomes crusty and you have to scrub! Always end up having to do it all again as there is still bits of food on the plates..
I now leave him to taking out the rubbish, hanging up clean washing and the ironing!

I soak, the missus thinks im just job dodging but christ half an hour soaking makes all the dfferance!
I love my other half to bits but sometimes i think if i put my hands on her i wouldnt take them off. i must admit im the laziest SOB going, i do next to nothing in the house but the way i see it i provide the money to pay for the things that make the mess, least she can do is keep it in order lol!

She uses it to talk to mates. I have one but place **** all value on it(had exes in my top friend and a few other epic fails so she says). I'm like ok base life on a ******* website is really rather mature.

Mine aint talking to me either right now. I parked on double reds today to get something in a shop quick, telling her to stay in the car and move it if anyone comes to write me a ticket. I was in the shop for 3min, came back out only to find her walking up the road into Tesco Express. She locked the car and took the keys with her leaving me no other choice but to leave the car on double reds and run after her to get the keys. Naturally I had a little go and now she has the hump with me.

Seems to me the really important thing about your argument over the soapy suds is this. It is not about washing up!
She is angry with you about something else. Sjhe has probably been seething for hours or even days or longer. She isn't going to make it easy by telling you what she is cross about. You are expected to know that. You are not expected to discuss it with her because it is obvious you are at fault and you need to apolgize, make amends, do something, undo something or whatever. If you feign ignorance at her being upset it just proves what a nasty uncaring monster you are and her mother was right all along.
In the meantime she will let you know how angry she is by being nasty and unreasonable about everything except what is bothering her.
DO NOT ask her "What's wrong?" or "Are you OK". An early and painful demise may result

i honestly think i could have done her in and been out of prison on good behaviour by now
its all the silly things
the little oil can light on my car is on, so i reply ok dont do anything switch it off and wait there, thinking better top the oil up before i forget. she replies oh it cant be that important its been on for a week now women logic
it makes you realise just how lucky gay men are. no wife in their life. seriously you have to ask is it something genetic that makes people gay or are they just smart enough to realise its the easier option?

washing up is one of the biggest cause of arguments in our house as well. so much infact that when our contract runs out our next house will have a dish washer.
It takes up so much time and is horrible and on top of that half the time you feel like you are washing other peoples crap.
Washing dishes seems as stupid as washing clothes by hand, it just shouldn't be done.
