Can somebody explain the C63 AMG to me ?

I'd have one of these over an M3 any day.

Price may be due to demand - how soon could you get a new one if you went to dealer tomorrow?

People will pay more to have what they want now.

thats the only reason i can think a respected dealer would think they are worth the same price used as they are new

if theres a massive waiting list for them or something.

Its a rare car that's exotic (compared to the regular models) , desirable and in short supply. It commands a premium over retail.

I don't see the surprise here.

Love the ~63 AMG mercs, loads of them out here, every single one sounds awesome. I'd still have an M5 though!

New ones are difficult to get a hold off, and no one would buy a basic car at basic price need to spend another 4-5k for a decent spec!

At one point you could get decent discounts, there are still some dealers that will do a decent discount. Some will do none!

That car does sound £10k too expensive to me though unless they have become ultra desirable and rare overnight!

How much do all the options add up to though ? a £50k base car can add up to a lot more with a few options.

Looking on pistonheads, similar age M3s are going for the same prices so I'd say its not as expensive as you think

really ?

last time i looked 2 year old M3s were into the low 40s. IIRC they dropped as low as 35/36k at the heart of the depression but have recovered by about 10k to mid to low 40s now.

well no...

Its only 0.2 seconds faster to 60 and only 0.3 seconds quicker over the 1/4 mile. Hardly the biggest of differences in a straight line.

And then theres the fact that the m3 is about 3 seconds a lap quicker round silverstone.

Its a teeny bit down on power, but makes up for it with vastly superior handling.

I was talking literally in that it makes the M3 *look* limp wristed...I know performance wise its swings and roundabouts, but as far as aggressive and purposeful looks go the Merc is streets ahead :)
