Tesco to dominate everything and the world?

Plenty around me and farm shops all sell veg.

Mostly dairy farms round here and lots of game so we're good for honest fresh meat, but not so much on the fruit and veg side.

Ah well, maybe there's a gap in the market. It's just a shame I live in a terraced main road property with a flagged high walled garden :D

I like how people are complaining that somehow Tesco is the one who is evil and responsible for all the shops closing, but actually it's the public, who want to pay less for goods, who are responsible.

I know that, just a shame most people prefer cheap and cheerful to slightly less cheap and good quality.:(

That all depends what you buy. If you buy value stuff then yes. if you buy normal stuff or the supermarkets good range . Then it is no cheaper.

Kilo of fillet steak from asda meat counter £39, kilo form a extremely good butcher £40. Same with most of the meat. As long as you don't buy the value stuff you often get far better quality for near enough same prices.

How is that any less noble than an individual doing it to feel good about themselves / being able to say "I give to charity every month" ?

because they aren't doing it for the good, they are doing it to increase profits. It's not a bad thing, but using they help charity out to make them look good is a bit silly.

The price they pay to farmers for the milk.

Yes, but i still don't see a solution to your problem, hence you can't moan about it. Believe it or not, they can't donate large amounts of money to charity without there being some pr advantage. If they stop donating to charities then again it makes them look bad. And if they never started to give to charities then all the charities that have benefited from tesco would have lost out.
