*Rebellion have said they will patch it in in the future :)

As a side note, this version has FULL Vista/Windows 7 compatibility and even supports a 360 pad so is not just a quick rehash.

Alien Versus Predator Classic 2000 has been updated to run on modern PCs and laptops using DirectX 9.0c and includes support for Xbox 360 Controller for Windows, however, it does not currently support multi-player.

I just remember how crappy the framerate was in my retail AVP compared to the smooth demo!

(and the demo makes mention of its own poor performance as is a demo blah and will be better on finished game blah)

Gawd that peed me off back in the day! - was cured when I upgraded :)

And first card I tried to run it was a n S3 Virge with 4MB ram (dang i feel old now)

I've been working with the source code for AvP for a while now. Already had d3d9 and xbox360 support, and it worked in Windows 7.

I might try improve on their version if I can :p
 
Can someone confirm for me that this actually has proper widescreen support? on my widescreen monitor it just stretches the image when I use 1920x1080 (which is what the original release did)
 
AvP was all about the multiplayer, the single player game was okay - but I wouldn't say it had everlasting replay value.
 
I still remember the first time I played the marine campaign, it absolutely terified me, that damn motion detector, and suddenly 'argh, they're coming out of the walls!!' - and then random panic shooting because they were so quick...

I was only 16, but damn that game terrified me!
 
Gutted it doesn't have multiplayer.. AvP multiplayer skirmishes were chuffing awesome!

Still, I'll probably buy it to replay the SP campains :p

Marine campaign: Awe-Ron-****-mothering-Perlman-some
Predator campaign: Pretty damn cool
Alien campaign: bleeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrggggghhhhhhhhh
