Too much coffee?

I woke up this morning to find out that we'd ran out of coffee. Took me forever to get going, didn't actually end up doing anything until lunch time.

I'll normally havee at least 4 cups a day, when I was working as a heating installer it was a lot more than that :p

Used to take a lot but got very dehydrated. Then I changed to taking cups of black tea. Now I have nothing but green tea. Awesome. Feel a lot better for it.

When I drove petrol tankers for Texaco and Elf I used to suffer from headaches on my days off.....went and saw the doc about it and after a little chat he enquired as to how many cups of coffee I drank on an average daily basis.....well when I sat down and worked it out he nearly fell of his chair......I drank, on average, a minimun of 20 MUGS of coffee a day and that , he said, equates to around 40 CUPS. I wasn't drinking enough coffee on my days off and was suffering from withdrawal.
Rather than increase my coffee consumption on my days off he recomended that I reduce the amount I drank when at work.
It took about 2 weeks for me to get down to 6 mugs aday....damned adictive is coffee and the worst part is that not many realise they are addicted till you try to give it up.

It's considered a healthier alternative due to the amount of antioxidants and vitamins and minerals, plus the fact it can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, dental cavities, kidney stones etc.

I love it, used to drink loads of 'normal' tea and coffee, now I drink much more Green Tea. :D

Do love a cup of freshly ground coffee mind.

Take up smoking.
I always find that the first fag of the day always loosens my bowels.

Honestly thought I was the only one. My mates think I'm crazy.

I go through about 6 or 7 cups of tea a day, and that's when I'm busy working or otherwise can't get to a kettle easily. I can double that without breaking a sweat on days off. Milk is the big limiting factor, since I go through 2-3 pints a day just drinking it form a glass/the carton.

I started drinking coffee last year after considering it as a natural laxative; Basically, if I don't do the loo in the morning, I'm constipated and in pain/discomfort for the rest of the day, taking coffee in the morning made this a lot better.

So, now I'm drinking it daily, often twice in the morning to ease things up and then later on in the day pre-training at the gym. Surely this can't be good for my health? My GF seems convinced it will speed the ageing process and have other harmful effects over time?

How much do you consume daily? Am I drinking too much?

Only read the first couple of posts tbh, bit ****ed. Are you for real? I'd worry more about why you can't **** and are in pain if you don't... Coffee is the least of your worries!

If you'd read a couple more, I explained! I just have little time in the mornings so like things to be quick, coffee helps the process and saves time. If I don't get time in the morning I'm often left with no chance until later on therefore making me uncomfy and eventually constipated.

edit: too much information for a forum, me thinks. :p

I try to stay away from too much caffeine because it's quite easy to become reliant on it.
