Cheapest place to live?

Southern California Central Coast is the perfect climate for being skint, it barely rains, doesn't get stupid hot nor does it get stupid cold. It's why there's tons of homeless people in SoCal - couldn't be a better place to be homeless so may as well make your way there :p
This is just getting depressing now Rich, stop indirectly taunting us that you're moving out West. :p

Have you considered Mercury ? Heating bills are low, but the cost in petrol for the commute to work might get pricey.

Monaco could be a cheap place to live in the long run, it is a tax haven after all. You could save a fortune on tax so wouldnt exactly need to worry about the heating bills.

In Dharavi, Mumbai rent is $2 a month.

I take it you watched Kevin Cloud? :)

Not sure I could stomach kids doing a dump in the street.

Disgusting the divide between rich and poor. I will never wheel my suitcase through the airport again without passing a thought for the potential 12 year old having made the handle.

At least them being employed is better than the alternative: starving, possibly working on the dump and neglected.

The cheapest place in the world I know with half decent living is your mum...no I joke, it's Hull

Most other places in the world, you will need either AC or Heating at some point in the seasons

The north tends to be cheaper in house prices, everyday prices (you would be paying up to a pound more for somethings down here) but I think they don't pay as much wages as you would get down here which probably balances it out

Going a bit off topic now, perhaps a new thread is necesary, but yeah it was very thoughtful stuff. Something to think about is that is what the vast majority of the UK lived like right up until about 1930 - 10 families sharing a single loo and the like.

Minimum wage is the same everywhere, but there's a big difference between paying £120k for a flat and £12k. Or half the price for a pint of beer, if that's your thing.

I hear pakistan is cheap and hot.

Yeh but with the constant terrorist bombings and the utterly inept govt there....id rather slit my throat then go live there although if you have money then you can quite literally live like a king out there.
