The pot calling the kettle black, is a weird one.
Not when the origins are clear. I don't find this phrase strange.
Although that said,
'You know as much about that as a pig does about a white sheet!'
was always one of my favourites.

Lol, that doesn't clear anything up. Why are they sorry? Maybe if they said 'I feel bad for you' but not 'Sorry'.
