I have a Samsung 32Gb SLC, now I plugged it in the first time, it was recognised fine on my main rig, I benchmarked it then unplugged it (as I bought it for my netbook on order). Now I have the netbook, the drive just isnt recognised in the netbook BIOS (N310) nor my main rig. I just dont understand it. Is there an issue with SSD's and motherboards? Im very concerned, I think this drive is dead (I did buy it 2nd hand)

Can anyone help?

Cheers guys:)

Tired a different SATA socket (assuming you have one)?

yeah I tried 3 sata sockets and different rigs. I've also tried HDDERASE 3.1, 3.3 and 4.

Are there known issues with motherboards and SSD's? I just updated the BIOS on my main computer but no joy, the BIOS still hangs for a while.

I got martin's other two samsungs - both are now ok, but it wasn't a straight plug and play.
one was pickup in windows (but with very odd partitions and 64GB) the second was a 'dynamic'.
both were in Raid (as was yours) so I guess that can give issues when breaking the array

Uses a bootable usb and ran HDDerase - but 4 didn't work on my P5Q
only 3.1 and 3.3 worked for me - and only with bios on IDE and compatabilty mode (didn't shown any of my drives first time)

WHen HDDerase did finally work (it had a good faq - like a noob I didn't read it first)
both drives were erasied and showed up in window fine
Formated via Disk management for a 10x boost in 4k speed.

Need to get the offsets done next - still using xp - but I struggled with these too.

What is odd with yours - is it did work (benchmarked) but now doesn't - very strange

Yeah I tried all three HDDErase versions, nothing is picking this thing up. Yeah the fact that it did work (albeit for 10 or so mins:p) really confuses me. I also tried the drive in a shop (tooking to CEX) - didnt work there either. Oh dear.

Thanks for the help though.
