Goodbye Cadbury

Look forward to the first batch of plastic container spread-able chocolate..!! lol

Kraft has a long list of brand names, Terry chocolate orange didn't change, so doubt Cadbury chocolate will - however I somehow fear for UK jobs on this one.... We'll see.

If the UK really wanted to block this, then surly the trading and commissions group would have done something, but not knowing an awful lot about company take over bids, I don’t think this would create a monopolisation. Therefore it was down to shareholders, and the deal was agreed….

Warnings about not cutting jobs will be announced, nothing will happen for the first few years, then after the dust has settled, we’ll hear of the first plant closures… As I said, we’ll see..

Terry chocolate orange did get smaller.

cadbury is the best chocolate in the world FACT! and anyone that disagrees should be mercilessly ridiculed :p

i just hope kraft don't ruin it in some way

If the deal does go threw it will be a big shame, one more company swallowed up and no doudt moved abroad.

Tbh

Terry chocolate orange did get smaller.

I think every bar has got smaller over the years or my hands keep growing.

It's not that bad, they were pulling out of UK anyway. At least this way the Bristol plant will be saved. They are not going to make American chocolate.

It's a shame that it will no longer be English, but at least uk factories is better than nothing.

Best sweet confectionery maybe, Best chocolate not a hope in hell.

My parents brought a care package back from their recent trip to Belgium - Cote d'Or milk chocolate is probably nicer than your bog standard dairy milk bar, but you can't beat a Cadbury's Caramel Egg.

edit: Damnit, Kraft own Cote d'Or as well, forgot about that!

The reason for everything getting smaller is the astronomical price increases in cocoa and milk over the past few years.

Either they charge you £1 for a mars bar, or they make it smaller, or they lose money. People won't spend £1 on a mars bar, they still need to maintain profitability, so they make them smaller instead.

Oh wow, yet another British brand sold out.. anyone remember Terrys factory in yorkshire?

Selling off yet another British brand for the benefit of....... the shareholders? It's highly unlikely it'll benefit anyone here and if **** hits the fan, workers, people here etc, will suffer. Foreign ownership and globalisation is never good.

Cadburys not sold to Kraft and it closes with Brits losing jobs.
OR
Kraft buys Cadburys and most get to keep their jobs.

I know which I'd prefer to happen and it will keep a household name in the shops.
