Commuter cat hit by a car

What happens if you hit a cat at say 9pm? No vets would be open in my town and i`m not even sure who i would contact about finding somewere further to go or getting a call out.

I witnessed my friends cat get run over after it ran across a busy road after me. The driver didn't stop, but I had already moved the cat out of the road, before it died about 5s later. So not really sure what they would have been able to do to help.

TBH, even if you don't want to go knocking on doors or calling vets, it's worth checking if the cat is alive and moving it from the road either way.
 
I would definately stop if I hit a cat.

I mean, I'd need to try and find out who owned it so I'd know who to send the repair bill to.

Are BMW's made of tinfoil ?, I'm fairly sure it would just glance off ;) and you wouldn't have to drop a gear.
 
The Police are looking for the driver? Who cares its cat and by law he didn't even need to stop! What are they going to do if they catch him? Dam all

Dog's and horses count as work animals i think, thats why you need to report them

As much as people here will be up in arms cat's are glorified vermin akin to pet rats and so on :p

Whether you agree or not, or even think its silly is of little concequence, she thinks its a good idea to get her kittens acclimatised to busy roads so they dont get run over

Edited: i don't get it so bowing out of this one :p

I'm sure I've heard that they had changed it to include cats too. I would certainly stop (and probably never be able to drive again!) and do my best to help it.

I would be freaking all the time if my cats got out, I don't think I'd be able to handle the trauma of waiting for them to come back. Plus, that means they don't annoy or become the object of anger for people that don't like cats!

I also have 8 pet rats. :p

You can't train a cat. Simple as that. There is no acclimatise a cat to roads because you can't train them. :)

Indeed.

It's a road, the only reason I even slow down for most animals on it is the potential damage to my vehicle.
 
Meh, sounds like suicide to me!

I mean, the cat was clearly manically depressed. It clearly wanted to be a human being and I guess the reality hit that it was never going to happen.

Guess he just threw himself under the wheels of an unsuspecting driver. It's a selfish act, because jaspers pain is gone, but the trauma that driver is going to have to go through is just awful! No one likes cleaning cat blood & guts off the wheel arches! Eww!
