Unfortunately I can not talk my friend out of buying a peugeot 206. She likes the look of them. So this weekend, i will be going to look at some with her. The cars we will go and see are peugeot 206 1.4 Autos. Ranging from 2000 to 2002 models. What things should i look out for specifically with regards to 206 Auto cars?
Thanks in advance guys :)

Just kick the tyres and look under the bonnet, then shake your head with disapproval, followed by an offer 20% below asking.

What to look for? Can't help but say another car! :p

I know this doesn't help but I.......couldn't help it. A 206 automatic with a 1.4. God help her....

err no i have told her that.. i have shown her the honest johns review page as well. Ideally she would prefer a vauxhall corsa or ford fiesta but finding good ones are hard.. have been looking for 3 weeks now with no luck. And she is getting fed-up of using public transport. Her journey to work is about 10 to 15 mins by car but by bus it becomes over 45 mins due to the route of the bus and she has to carry work back and forth too (she is a teacher)

You can't find a corsa or fiesta for her? I trip over them getting out of bed in the morning.

Spread your search a bit further for a fiesta or corsa it'd be worth the extra travel... for the fiesta anyway

EDIT: how much is she looking to spend?

Does the car have to be an auto and how much has she got to spend?

Something like a Yaris would be great

Electrics,
Autobox,
Electrics,
Bodywork,
Electrics
Engine,
Electrics.

I think that should do as essentials... maybe check the electrics too?
That is a good point, but just in case Halfords are out of stock of 'Electrics Checkers', what specifically should the OP be looking for?
