Who went from GTX295 to 5970

Defo keeping my eye out for "Bad Company 2 (March 5th)". It looks awesome, not sure how much impact it will have on my fps though if I turn everything on max and play on dx11 mode :p

In the next month there's rather a few coming out.

Dirt 2 (already out)

Battleforge (already out)

STALKER Call of Pripyat (February)

Bioshock 2(February)

AVP (February)

Bad Company 2 (March 5th)

Lord of the Rings Online (Q1)

:)

That's a few high profile games within the next month.

Looking forward to this lot.

Bioshock 2
Bad Company 2
STALKER Call of Pripyat

I wish I had held on to a 5870 now :(

So that's 2 out now, right?? Maybe another 3 or 4 before Fermi is "released"? Plus it's only relevant if you are going to buy all those titles.

Anyone buying an enthusiast card now, purely for the purposes of enjoying DirectX 11, is daft considering Fermi is just around the corner (supposedly).

There's enough games coming out before FERMI to warrant a DX11 card purchase though.

That's also assuming that march is definitely the release of FERMI, it could be the end of March or even later for all we know.

I disagree.

The same could be said for some of the games with a "Q1" release date.[/quote]

You would disagree. Your disagreement however, doesn't equate it to being fact.

Those that don't disagree however have went and bought DX11 games so they can enjoy them as soon as possible.

Don't forget though, DX11 isn't an ATi API, you're allowed to like it. :)

I see you're going down the childish route with your argument so I'll leave you to it.

Hardly AvsP2 and BC2 have solid release dates, the Fermi does not, although I "think" the end of march is probably realistic, but with the problems they've had who knows, then theres the massive question mark over the performance, their top end card could only just be a little quicker than 5870.

Their lack of information on this product and waiting time after ATi has forced me to give them my money this time round instead, sorry NV you cant keep us waiting while feeding us fresh air.

I also think by the time we see proper stock levels of Fermi's itll be ATis turn again.

Childish indeed.

Most people around here would expect you to disagree that there are worthwhile DX11 games coming soon though.

You aren't going to think much of DX11 until you can buy hardware that'll support it.

However, childish is not understanding the differences between opinion and fact.

You can disagree all you want about there being no worthwhile DX11 games, luckily the industry doesn't run on your "opinion" though.

There are a good few high profile DX11 games coming out before march, I'd say that was enough to say there are enough up coming DX11 games to persuade people in to buying a DX11 card now (as they have done).

:)

Perhaps you should keep reading that back to yourself until you understand it.

What are your thoughts on the rest of my post? As I noticed you purposefully only responded to one aspect, I would have thought the rest of my post was far more relevant to the thread than the part you chose to reply to. :)

Totally agree. Nvidia have shot themselves in the foot taking to long to replace the GT 200. The GF 100 should have been on sale before the ATI 5000 cards IMO.

Dearest Kylew, Please point out where I stated I thought my opinions were facts and I will bow to your superior intellect.

50% of your posts are Nvidia bashing and the other 50% are spelling/grammar correction so I have learnt to ignore most of what you say.

My thoughts on the rest of your posts in this thread are that you are of the opinion that you think buying an enthusiast level DirectX 11 card now - to experience perhaps 5 games - is a good idea rather than wait for FERMI. As I have already pointed out, I disagree with that. You however seem to think that my disagreement is somehow an assertion of it being fact.

P.S. Is the smiley at the end of your posts meant to be some sort of indicator of your belief that you are making a decent point? If so, you are using it without justification.

lawl. I think the best response to the majority of your post is simply "Cool story, Bro!"

All of that had what to do what what I've said?

Grab the 2009 mod, looks good. I had to bung my 4870X2 back in though, the 260 just couldn't put out enough frames though.

Grabbed it the other day! :D

Got First and second in the steam sale, despite already owning boxed copies of both.

To be fair though, my SoC didn't have a serial, where it was supposed to be on the back of the manual was just blank.
