my phenom rig is coming next week.
i was gonna build the mobo, ram, cpu, and baram outside the case would the best was to do this be on my boogie bug gaming mat and a inside out anti static bag?

yea make sure you discharge yourself of static by keeping your foot on a radiator if your paranoid

i got a wrist strap a while back when i took the 939 build out the micro atx case and put it in the haf 932.

i'm just s*****g myself that it don't post or something after it's been built lol.
saying that i need to pick up a cheap sata dvd drive before wednesday as i hear the ud-5 FXTA can be a pig to get to work with IDE drive
any suggestions for a cheap yet good sata dvd drive

The ThermoLab Baram is a bit of a beast to stick on before you installed your mobo!

I installed mine once the motherboard was screwed down in the case . . . . very easy when running passive in the Antec 300 but I had some trouble getting the fan clips installed once I added the fan to help get the bigger overclocks! . . . . as you can see in the pic below the lower right hand corner is a bit hard to access . . .

I'm waiting for an adapter from Thermolab so I can swivel the heatsink so it faces up to take advantage of the 140mm roof fan! :D

If i build it outside the case whats the best way to pick the mobo up to put it inside.

i do have a HAF 932 with a cutout in the mobo tray for quick changing Heat sinks you think i should install it in the case.

also my haf has a 230mm roof fan maybe i should get an adapter aswell, do you have their contact details so i can order one?

Pick it up carefully holding the edges, try and get your hand under the board asap to give it support otherwise it will flexing like a flexy thing! :p

Probably easier to install the Baram once the board is secured but either way will suffice!

i'll have a look at doing it with mobo inside the case (at least there will be more support for it)

i imagine it weighs a fair bit not gonna go doing damage to the socket is it

It's probably easier doing in that way, the only fiddly butmay be getting the fan clips attached if your case is a bit smaller . . .

Of course you may not need a fan at all! ;)

Nah, you'd be suprised, it's a work of art and not too heavy. The base is a thing of beauty, perfectly flat and a mirror finish!
