Cheap interim card for 1920x1200 gaming.

Would be my choice. Faster than the 250, quieter and will clock well.

Just saw someone suggested a 240 for similar money, will a kind soul take them out and shoot them? They need to be put out of their misery.

Aye, much better performance but I was thinking more 'cheap as possible' though I was surprised to see how cheap these 4870's are now. What a great buy. (Though I think his best option is a cheap mm card).

Managed to source an asus 8800gt from mm, should be fine to tide me over till i see how my rma goes. Can also then use it as a physx card or stick it into my second rig.
 
The 8800gt is already bought, currently using a rather rubbish 7300gt, ok for windows but no gaming.

You can have my old eVGA 8800 Ultra Superclocked if my new Gfc card ever arrives......
