Going back to performance, and slightly off topic, I'm in the market for a new monitor. Would I notice much of a performance hit if I chose a 1980x1080 res monitor over 1680x1050 res monitor? I'm looking at the benq 24" monitor on ocuk, and am just worried it might prove crippling fps wise getting that over a lower res, smaller screen for the same sort of price!

as long as my 2.0GHz core 2 duo and 8800gt and 2GB of ram run this at a playable framerate at 1280x1024 I will be happy. I think the main issue I will have is CPU, what sort of settings will be based heavily on CPU that I could reduce to increase performance?

Apparantly sound has a lot to do with the CPU.
