Dang mine hasn't been dispatched yet. I rarely preorder games online mainly cos I just worry about it getting delivered for release. Knowing my luck it'll come on Monday! :(

I wouldn't worry. Most pre orders get sent out wednesday for thursday delivery.

I've been pondering whether to get this game or not. However at the moment I just cant make my mind up.

I found ME1 to be quite bland with little depth and virtually no character development at all. While the story was interesting (for what there was of it) it came across as being broken and detached from the world and NPC interaction around it.

For those that have played the 2nd one, does ME2 improve on these things? Especially on character development? Or is it still a "unlock new a new line of dialog every so often" type of thing?

:O Eggyoke i dont get how you can say about the character developmeant unless im not as picky as you but their was some of it their, However i agree about blandness but only in the sense that exploration felt like most worlds were copy+pasted and then colour changed.

Mine is still not dispatched from Amazon, and they have dispatch date listed as 28th. Will be unhappy if I don't get it this week.

Only game I have ever pre-ordered, and even if I won't have a huge amount of time for it this weekend, I have been anticipating it long enough now to not want to wait til next week.

same here. Hopefully it will be dispatched on Wednesday. Even got first class delivery for it in the hope it may come earlier :p

Ive heard amazon are good with pre-orders so i wouldnt stress yet it may get despatch tommorow for you amazonions and arrive on thurs its what most places do anyway.

If it doesnt however just nip to asda at midnight and get it then return your copy when it arrives if your desperate lol :P

I sold Mass effect 1 about 2 weeks ago, Got £7 for it on the flea market.

Well...I bought it again today for £10 :o

Thats why I never sell any of my games because I know one day I will want to play them again if I don't have them anymore :p I learned my lesson with SimCity 2000 on PS1, I couldn't find it in any game store for almost 3 years. Thank god we have the internet now :D

As an RPG fan I can easily say ME contained the worst character development of any Bioware game I've played, and probably every RPG ever made above the 90% review rating.

Apart from certain characters integrate to the story, most of them had nothing more than a brief introduction followed by a few lines of unlockable dialog and nothing more. I remember wanting to get to know them but apart from Wrex, there was nothing remotely deeper than a paragraph or some really weak past event that they couldn't get over for some silly reason.

To me this had a profound impact on how I felt about the game and the characters.

Remember that decision you had to make between the two characters? Ashley and Kaidan (I had to look-up their names) This was supposed to be a powerful moment in the game, however it failed completely because it never allowed the player to get to know the characters beyond a brief paragraph and some random comments and conversations as you walked around. And so the question of who you want to sacrifice was amazingly easy to make, which for me was the guy, because apart from knowing he was some biotic druggy (or something similar, its been years since I played it), I'd prefer to look at the human girl in a combat suit.

This was my major problem with the game. It tried too hard to make itself come across as a movie type experience, however it was so shallow that the big moments really lacked any weight and made the whole thing easily forgettable.

This also doesn't include how broken the environment seemed, and how oddly paced everything appeared in regards to the events of the game. Basically as soon as you complete a top-secret-spectre mission, every tom, dick and harry that made up the Mass Effect galaxy seemed to know every detail of what happened and who was who JUST AFTER it happened. It just all felt strangely slapped together.

ANYWAY :p It had good points that much is certain, and its why I'm pondering whether to get the second one. However if they managed to iron out some of those things I mention, I'd gladly purchase the 2nd.

So even if you install both discs, you STILL have to change discs when exploring certain worlds outside of the main questline? Will still be getting it, just disc swapping isn't a problem on something like Final Fantasy where you have one continuous story progression but on something like Mass Effect I can see it being more of an annoyance... Maybe I'm just a moaning so and so. :(

I thought it was just two swaps? Beginning > middle and middle > end. The middle bit being the most variable.

Might be a long shot but does anyone have Dragon Age: Origins that has the code for the unlockable armour on Mass Effect 2 but has no intentions of playing ME2? Would be welcome my way ;)

I dont mind the disc swapping but i really wish they would have done what Forza3 did and just use 1 discs but let you install the other two.

As early on in the game like the first one ill mainly do side quests and ignore the main story quest for abit so i can see swapping discs more than three times! >.<

@people who are worrying over delivery of ME2 from Amazon

I've always ordered from amazon, I rarely order from anywhere else, mainly due to them always lowering the price before bumping it back up, and I've always recieved the item on the day.

I've even had them post things the day before release and had it the next day.
