On the plus side they're using epub, so if their prices are competitive I can just put the books on my Sony Reader

Not really. For example on the Stanza ereader you can setup a low vis font on a dark background so its friendly on the eyes or yes the backlight will hurt like mad.

They should have given it an animated home screen ala HTC Sense.

Also, no 3g?!?! How on earth do you use it where you don't have wifi :-(

I feel this will be a feature left until the end to announce... the iPad without 3G would be a very stupid move by Apple in my opinion...

This thing is perfect, I only use my laptop for browsing and music via AirTunes on the sofa so this thing is perfect.

We haven't seen the back yet - still hoping for 3D camera!

So now they've got two versions of iWork to make. One for OS X and one for this contraption. Seems like a lot of hassle for Apple devs.

I'd be more worried because with a max of 64GB memory on the thing and no 3G, it doesn't look like they will be going for a cloud type integration...
