What would you do if everyone just dissapeared?

1st rejoice then make my way to area 51 see whats goin down, then nasa figure out how fly a space shuttle (literally spend a good few years planning and researching it all !)........once id learned and then live as long as I wanted to doing other things and the last thing id attempt is to fly into space

by that time though all the rubber/degradable parts would be useless along with a lot of the vital machinery without maintenance.
 
Pretty sure these days all nuclear powerplants have mechanical failsafes that drop the rods. Chances of that failing as a last ditch measure is incredibly small.

So what would it take for one person to set off a few nukes or launch the shuttle?

I want to know the chances of pulling off these goals, as they're good ones! :p
 
Good question. First of all I would get some transportation, perhaps the new lexus or a ferrari. May even go for a saloon so im comfortable.

Places to visit:

Washington
Buckingham
Area 51
Vegas
Japan
China
Of course i would eventually end up going everywhere out of sheer boredom.

Various tropical locations

I would make sure i have the latest gadgets with me as id always get bored.

I could imagine myself wondering the earth for 20 years untill i find the best spot to settle down. Make sure i got me a fembot if there are no females about ofc.

Near death I would leave a diary behind.

nukes you could probably get away with just need to find the codes/keys etc, your best bet might be a sub in dock as they might have everything to launch them without command etc as they may be the last thing left after a attack.



Getting into space would be much harder because everything has to be damn near perfect or you're going to end up as a fine mist shortly after take off.
 
There'd be no way you'd be able to get hold of a nuke, they'd be in secure locations that you wouldn't have access codes etc for.
Even if you could get hold of one I'm guessing it would be impossible for one person to set if off, even if they knew how to, let alone someone who only completed GCSE science.

These things would have to be armed, certainly not something you could do without multiple codes, and due to the nature of these things, you wouldn't just be able to stumble across these (for obvious security reasons).

iirc that's the first thing to happen as soon as they lose power/the temp starts rising too much.


Because they need to be in before they get warped by heat.
 
1) Find somewhere with an electrical generator of some kind and a good supply of fuel.
2) Learn how to farm/grow my own food and live off canned food until I got the hang of it.
3) Rob a Game store to keep me busy in the evenings.
4) Pinch books from libraries/bookshops to learn how to do all kinds of things.
