what do you eat, Healthy ?

You're eating way too much sugar.

Sugar bascially contains no goodness at all. In fact all your bodies resources such as the natural enzymes you have got from eating the small amount of healthy food you rarely eat are being used to try and digest the sugar. While the enzymes are trying to get that crap through your digestive system they are not doing their job of regenerating you body and making you healthy.

Try cutting out the sugar and the caffeine slowly over a period of time and introducing more organic raw fruit and veg. Also if you want a massive boost of a complete protein for energy then try eating sprouted nuts and grains in your sandwiches, you could even make the sandwiches with sprouted or manna bread.

Not to mention giving your body everything it really wants and needs.
Aye your body does talk to you. Once you have a varied diet, instead of just going 'HUNGRY NAO' it'll go 'NEED SALTY STUFF, MM' or 'GIMME SALAD! BIG JUICY SALAD!' or 'CAN HAZ CARBS PLZ' or whatever else.

Your hunger pangs now are probably such varied cravings, but if you don't know what pangs match to what kind of food, you'll just end up eating whatever to shut it up...

...well that's how it all feels to me, anyway!

That diet is awful, you'll feel odd because all that sugar in giving you huge insulin spikes and lots of energy for a short period of time, then that will quickly drop off and your blood sugar will be lower than before you even ate anything.

You'll also feel hungry very quickly because the foods you are eating will be very quickly turned into energy.

I think everyone know to an extent what is and isn't healthy.

Just a few quick ideas below on what you could eat.

Breakfast: Egg on wholemeal toast? Even a decent ceral here for you in a start

Dinner: Wholemeal chicken/turkey sandwich and a healthy soup

Tea: Some meat, boiled potatoes/wholemeal rice/pasta. Maybe some roasted vegetables instead.

Stop drinking Coke. If you can't at least switch to diet coke and try to only drink it at the same time as your meals.

At othertimes you need to drink something else.

really appreciate the help here guys and im taking it all on. Your right coke is a very hard one to give up on. I do drink a lot of water, only because the water machince is next to my desh, where as the kettle is about 50 ft dwn the corridor.

Im going to review what im eating and see if i can sort it out.

You think these daily diets are bad? Seeing as I am at uni and just cba to cook and/or eat, my daily intake is like:

Maybe a bowl of porridge 2 days a week for breakfast if I can be bothered
Cheese/ham sandwiches
Chicago Town micro pizzas
Occasionally some pasta
Baked beans
Excessive amounts of Lucozade and Pepsi (2L+/Day)

Today:

2x New York bagels (Multigrain)

Have a footlong chicken & bacon ranch on order from Subway.

Probably have another bagel later afternoon, then it's tuna/rice/veg stirfry for dinner.

wardie your post explains exactly how i feel..

One moment im on the ball , feel very constructive getting lots done etc, and the moment late i just drop of and cant concentrate.. I also eat all the time (snack) known as a gannit.

Im taking all this on board as i really do feel its been affecting me and even holding me back in work for the last few years.

My diet is pretty poor.

I do, from time to time, go on little health kicks where I will not go on a full on diet, but really watch and think twice about what I eat, I'll also make a conscious effort to eat more fruit and veg.

I always feel much better (less tired and sluggish) after about 2 days and my skin is much nicer and clearer. I dont know why I ever stop to be honest.

I don't see how people find it so hard to stop drinking fizzy drinks.

4 years ago I said enough is enough, gave up all fizzy drinks and caffiene.
I could dump fizzy drinks without thinking about it but you'll have to take me alive before you take my cup of tea away from me :D

Ok im pretty bad
breakfast : Mars Bar/ Cereal
Drink : Pepsi Max/Diet Coke
Lunch : Melted Cheese in a Chicken Sandwich, Yoghurt, Cake, Crisps
Drink : Orange Squash about 2x 500ml bottles.
Dinner : Pasta Bake, Vegies, Rice, Garlic bread, Potatoes with cheese, depends what day it is.
Evening Snack : Slice of Apple Pie, Stroudle, yoghurt, or Jelly.

sometime i have a good breakfast depends what time i get up.

today for lunch im treating myself to french bread, with hot dogs, salad and cheese, yoghurt and crisps, with 25% less fat.

You basically need to do the following:

1) Plan what you're going to eat the day before or even earlier and make sure you've got everything in. The reason most people fall down is they don't think ahead with this.

2) Start eating breakfast! Weetabix will do, or even proddige/oats if you can.

3) Drop the coke, cakes and crisps. Switch to diet if you must to begin with, this is a big one! You can still eat the crisps but try maybe doing it on 3 times a week, and one pack.

4) Only go for wholemeal bread/pasta etc.

You need foods that will give you energy over a sustained period of time. The things you are eating now are just giving you bursts then your crashing and craving sugar again, the coke is probably the biggest culprit with this.

Caffeine is fine as long as it isn't too excessive, 4/5 cups of coffee or tea a day isn't that much of an issue.

it's quite shocking how people lurv the Fizz, i have about 1 a day thats in the morning.

I hear so many people use the excuse that they don't eat healthily because it's too expensive. Half the time they think mcdonalds is a cheap meal! It turns out that really it's because they can't be bothered to prepare a proper meal. Pasta, broccoli, carrots, potatoes are all ridiculously cheap.

up - tea - sandwitch - dinner(w/e is cooked goes from sup to pizza) - tea - another sandwitch and im done.. dont think i go over 2k calories.. at college i try not to eat really.. drink a pack of 100% apple juice and one of those grain bars.. :) not healthy but im ok dont feel tired.. etc

I have a horrible diet. I just can't seem to ween myself off sugar - allergic to seafood, don't really like fruit at all, water is just "meh".

Plus, mmmm... doritos.

it is quite true that it does come expensive, if you go to somewhere like tescos ect... you see healthy living food to be a lot more expensive, whereas normal food you can get BOGOF deals, you end up spending an extra £10-£20they make it harder to eat healthly and it's stupid, the supermarkets i never see healthy living foods cheap, always bloody fatty food, and im on a low budget due to renting my own accomidation it doesn't come easy to spend that extra amount on cash.
