Seems to be a more efficient version of the processor, a third revision that basically has slightly enhanced power efficiency and read times. That's what I could tell from the online article I read anyway.what is stepping?
Very nice system, similar to my potential rig.
I always skimp on the motherboard. I always get the cheapest possible but it looks like a good mobo with plenty of features.
Great setup.
Absolutely sexual!!! Wish mine was as tidy as that - I don't a have a modular psu or a good case so everything is abit spag bol! Although it looks fairly similar to yours!

Ha, good luck. I barely hit 3.8 with that cooling and case, 4ghz is impossible on air for me. It's pretty hard to get to 4ghz from what I've read! On air anway! Mines about 3.79ghz I think.
Ahh yes - Does the c3 make it a lot easier then when it comes to uping the voltage?
See I can only just about get it stable at 3.8ghz and thats on a 1.475 voltage. It just blue screens on anything lower! I haven't properly tweaked it yet though. Good news, however, the 5870 that replaced the 4890's in crossfire is awesome! It's added 1000 to my score in vantage over the crossfired 4890s. Well pleased![]()
well i can get a windows boot at 4.2ghz but prime 95 will crash instantly i'm gonna work on 4.2 then try and work back to 4Ghz see if i can work out whats stopping me getting stable 4.ghz If i can get at least 30seconds -1 min prime stable at 4.2 then i reckon i can get a fully stable 4.ghz
How good is that PSU (HX 750w)
I just got the same one for my new i7 build.
Although i did kind of think after taking it out the box Corssair could drop the price by about £20 if they didn't spend so much on packaging....it was like opening the Crown Jewels![]()
