California votes to legalise Marijuana FOR EVERYONE!

slightly different, you will be able to grow your own (you cant do this legally in Holland)
Yes you can, up to 5 female plants for personal use, or well, not ''officially'' legal, but you won't be prosecuted and it's tolerated. Which in the real world means you can grow 5 plants without a worry, even show em on display in front of your window.
as this is illegal in Holland.
By law yes, but by law smoking/selling/buying/using/owning it is illegal too, up to 5 plants are tolerated, same as marijuana possession up to 5 grams is tolerated. It's essentially legal, same as use/possession of marijuana.

Hmmm more places in the world that aren't retarded when it comes to soft drugs, first Czech and now Cali :).

All the people I know who did drugs ended up completely messed up, and some of them still are.

But there isn't a link

But can you prove they didn't do drugs because they were messed up? I've yet to see any research which proves that drugs cause mental illness. Correlation doesn't count and even then the increased incidence of mental illness is actually too small to be of much concern to anyone.

It's difficult to find unbiased information on the mental illness thing tho, some say it definitely 100% contributes to it, t.

 actually the scientific research is pretty sound. what is up for debates is
a) if you need an underlying condition
B) which underlying conditions or what genetic markers.

Try telling people it has messed up that there is no link. again this may be very low and deemed acceptable, but it has to be considered.

You can not have smoking clubs. That is a place of employment and so no smoking allowed.

Eating form would solve one of the issues and this is why it is not as simple as simply say legalise it there's mp downsides. There are many downsides and these have to be thought about from all points of view.

You still totally ignored the safety aspect, be it driving, construction work, using machinery or just doing mental tasks. Cannabis affects your abilities for a long time, most other drugs do not.

maybe its a co incidence ? or maybe its a co incidence that lot of people i know do take 'drugs' and live completely normal life's just like anyone else does. good jobs , familys , happy. it should be a personal choice

The UK should do this, but tax it really high, so it costs around £100 an 1/8th (£60 tax on really good weed). This would stop kids buying it often, get the economy sorted, and reduce health risks from people smoking stuff thats brought in from Iraq.

I see where you're coming from, but does the "10th Amendment" the OP mentions really have anything which mentions drugs etc? Or is it perhaps something more open to interpretation?

I am actually genuinely interested.

I was thinking yesterday if they legalised it, would they charge quite a lot more for it than it costs now? Which means the black market would still be there?

the black market would be there, just as there is for alcohol, tobacco and firearms (ATF in the USA deal with this). But I doubt it would be as good. Lately most strains have been mixed with concrete dust for example.

well alcohol is loads cheaper to make than to buy but not many people do it

hell of a lot easier to make homebrew booze than it would be to grow drugs too

but home-brew does not taste the same. However there is a huge black market for cigarettes and many heavy smokers make sure they get them cheap.

If it's taxed then there always be a black market for it like cigarettes.

Odd. I've seen more people messed up because of pot than alcohol. And that is saying something.

Yep, same here.
