OcUK Photo Comp - Season Nine : Round One - "Three Techniques" DISCUSSION

Not 100% happy with mine (processing mostly), and hopefully sunset qualifies as low key. At least the weather let up from being miserable long enough for me to try my new Zeiss glass :)

-J- can I suggest that you change your Bokeh technique to 'Tilted angle' and you're centred composition to 'Rule of Thirds'. The photo fits these much better.

Lovely shot there Mud - you should post a slightly larger version... EDIT scrap that - I often forget that I'm on a widescreen :D

Ta :). I uploaded 5420x1412 to flickr (the original is 10840x2823), but tbh I'm struggling to minimise the artefacts (colour-fringing) on things like the cable-stays.

My desktop is 3760x1600 and I can't view it all at 1:1 :|

I'm confused as to whether B&W was really one of the list of techniques to choose from. Even Martin who chose the theme has gone with it, but it's not on the list...

...not that I'm wishing to play lawyer-ball here...;)

yes it is B&W

EDIT

It was

I think B&W should be fine. When I chose the theme, the intention was to get people to think about their photography. I never intended on there being a strict set of rules; I think this was misinterpretted but most spotted the above comment and have used them as a guide. Just take a shot that you felt captured three photography techniques - "show you have thought about your photo!"

changed mine, i was planning to do something else but i came off my motorbike yesterday, pretty much house bound at the moment, hopefully going for an operation early next week.
luckily i found another jumping spider this morning so had some fun photographing it.

really high level of entries this month and a good amount too, its good to see.

Just got mine in, had to nick the graphics card out of my Dad's PC so could get the exif from the picture saved on my PC!
