Be Wary of Steam Abusers

So you know what every scammer does? how interesting  - they probably do a number of things with the account tbf.

Well it wont just be for that particular reason of course, I just stated one.

How is getting other peoples login and password details going to get them access to old accounts? You are wrong. Face it.

Wise up guys you should never use 1 passward for everything I have 10+ different 1's and only 1 has my account details which being a officer of the mod I will never tell even if you torture me OK!

You can't use one stolen steam account to unlock an old steam account...

Hell if that was the case why not just make a new steam account?

LMAO Officers of the MOD are not taught torture resistance. Knife under the fingernails will get your passwords out of you quite quickly. Or needles in the finger tips, perhaps cutting off your toes one by one?

I perhaps worded my first reply wrong.

I meant if they managed to get someones account details, that particular account might be an old one....

Not everyone retrieves their account, believe it or not some people aren't high in the IQ department.

Lol, just had this nugget contact me. Eric J, part of the TFU clan steam group.

Suffice to say, I told him to do one.

This is why I simply don't accept chat requests from anyone I don't know.

No harm accepting the request really. Who knows, you might even meet some ridiculously hot female member of the species who desperately wants you. Just be sure to run the other way if she ever asks you for your login details.

I got a stack of free games coming my way! Thanks for the link man! :D

They said I might not be able to use my Steam account for a few days, but it'll be worth it :D

Theres a lot of this crap going round.

Get lots of it from people posing as HSBC and other banks...so lame as well when they can't link the website or speak proper English...says it all really.

These links are normally sent to people with loads of games or who have a very old account. My account is 7 yrs old and i always get these stupid phishing links.

Oh dear.... idoits

saying that I see a lot of that over msn too who wants to nick a msn account is beyond me,

because lots of people use their email accounts for paypal etc :p

yeah once one person falls for it all their friends get sent it by them so people fall for it because they trust that person and so on :p

But with steam saying "don't enter your details" every time you click a link you've got to be a few sandwiches short of a picnic to fall for it :p

Having 10 different passwords makes no difference. Usually people get ripped for accounts because they are stupid enough to store their passwords in the browser cache which can easily be gotten all at once if you click on a dodgy link and don't have adblock + noscript installed, anyone who doesn't have those in this day and age deserves it tbh.
