Just to post something positive about OCZ. I had one of there SSD drives
which suddenly for no apparent reason decided to die on me - worked ok one day, the next day nothing.

Contacted Ocers for an rma - they advised it would be quicker for me to deal direct with OCZ. I contacted OCZ for an RMA as the drive was only seven months old. OCZ gave me an RMA pretty quickly, and they kept me informed throughout by e mail and I now have an upgraded replacement. How is that for good service !!

Nice to know OCZ back up their claim of good service and guarantee on their products. Well done OCZ.

Chris

Good for you - glad ther are others happy with OCZ.Only posted originally because I thought it would make a nice change from posting problems, moans etc.

Cheers

I've rma'd two sets of ram to ocz, both came back quickly enough and working well, and a dead 800W psu which was replaced with a far superior pc p&c model. Brilliant really.

Despite all the people that say brand loyalty is foolish, I buy from ocz whenever I can.

Just about sums it up really - good for you Jon.

:( Hmm its good if you are sending back RAM or SSD! I had to send back a powersupply (ocz stealthxstream 700W) a few months back from the UK to netherlands!! -_- It was 5months old and i had to pay the postage was £23.89! -_- I argued for a few days about it still being under warenty and i shouldnt have to pay the postage!... anyway i did and2 weeks later i recived the same psu back (still had a small scratch i made on the outer case). After 2- hours gaming my room started to fill with the smell of smoke then POOF pc went off again!... i contacted them and they said to send it back (me paying the postage once again).. as i only orignaly bought the card for £60 quid on sale from.. somewhere otehr than Overclockers.co.uk... lol.. i thought F it and bought a new one from Overclockers.co.uk... and it wasnt OCZ. ever since then i havent purchased A OCZ Item. Up till then i had been a HUGE fan, buying Only OCZ ram, Ram coolers etc. Now ive switched -_-

Very sorry to hear of your bad experience with OCZ. I do hope your case was the exception. Perhaps you should write or e mail them about postage costs etc - you never know they might oblige???

Pretty standard I think after the first 30 days dealings with the manufacturer are the norm?

a lot of etailers seem to deal with the 1st years warranty maybe its required by law? but if they feel the customer can get a faster rma by going direct i guess they advise it

Which is exactly what was advised to me on this occasion, and it turned out to be sound advice.
