Damn foxes!!

can you not run some chicken wire round the outside of the bottom of the fence ? to stop em breaking through

wonder why they are so desperate to enter your garden that they break the fence though

If a garden has a pond, a shed, shrubs and trees it's perfect for making a den for the cubs for the next few months. Chicken wire won't stop them, they either bury a ditch underneath it or find a way of getting over the fence.

My parents place has Foxes that come and go in the Garden nearly every night. Yes, they make a bit of noise during mating season, but are they really that bad?

I think it's quite interesting to have a bit of wildlife in your garden, especially since I moved out to London. I mean sure, I can understand the need to remove them if you have animals they could be interfering with, such as Chickens. But if they are doing nothing but making a bit of noise, is it really worth killing them over?

Does Lion Poo work for them though?
I know you can buy it from Zoos and some Pet Shops. It certainly works for deterring Cats from areas, not sure if it would do the same with Foxes.

xJcBx I live on a dairy farm, you wouldn't catch me shooting a fox with an air rifle.

The only way an air rifle would cleanly kill a fox would be if it was .22 and FACd.

Maybe the OP should invest in some live catch cages? Dump the fox miles away still alive. Or.. take it to a local farmer for dispatch.

I understand that it might seem like they can't be killed by one, but they can, because I have.

I do useually use a real rifle that you obvy need a FAC for, but if its done correctly you can kill a fox iwth a air rifle. As I've said before, its not a good method, but it does work.

Failing that...you can throw your pitchfork at it.

You would shoot an FAC rate rifle or even rimfire in a small garden backing onto a nature trail? Why not recommend a 12bore......no chance of any of those ammunitions leaving the boundary fences are there?

You're still wrong about shooting a fox with an air rifle. You'd most likely see it at night which makes it even more stupid to try any shot with an air rifle.

No wonder air gunners get a bad name with stupid ideas like you've been suggesting!

  • useually
  • obvy
  • iwth
  • a air rifle
Why don't you just shout at the fox? It would get hopelessly confused, run headlong into a wall, knock itself out and you could then dispose of it humanely without recourse to your WMD.
