AvP MP demo is live

Since the update I can't get into any games at all. Goes to 1 person and needs 7 more then back to scanning for games again, over and over -.-
 
just had a couple of great games with some of the guys. razor was ace as the alien. anybody else find the preddy very hard to play? can never find his weapons
 
Pred is the best. I just love his weapons and the invis. He is pretty easy prey from a super fast sneaky alien.

Marine is the easiest to play by far, pretty good from stock.

Good games just then, need more people with mics though.. otherwise all my "over here" and "turn around" whispers go unscreamed..
 
yes was definitely fun once we got everyone in a game, not tried the preddy yet though, want to look at controls first, don't want to dive in head first with it
 
Is anyone else having difficulty downloading this? For some reason Steam seems to be hogging all of my bandwidth even though it's only downloading at 120kbps.
 
Feels wrong killing your own species, although its a good way to wrack up the kills as a marine. Personally, I can't wait for TDM.
 
bh the trophy kills are just stupid, you dont have to be anywhere near the enemy to perform one. 10' behind a marine, press E, hey presto munching on his head.......

Aliens take way too much damage, 3 shotgun blasts at times....

No crouch for marines?! what that all about? is this going to be an aliens game without air ducts?

Also is anyone getting severe graphics corruption? I played 3 or 4 games last night fine, tried to force some AA in CCC, got lots of curruption. Now turned off AA in CCC and still getting it. Uninstalled and redownloaded the game but still corruption :(

got a few games in now, seems stange fighting your own species, and the controls and movement take some getting used to. still, shouldnt be to bad once the other game modes arrive.
 
just managed to figure out the alien controls towards the end of that game with you guys. I quite like it :D
 
I think the thing that makes this whole thing worse is that AvP (the games) is such a great franchise. All the elements are there, the pulse rifle sound (orgasmic) the ping of the motion tracker ("They're all around us man!"), the atmosphere the feeling of being hunted. But on the other hand, the execution is terrible.

Boring consolised gunplay, no feeling of weight to the melee as an alien or predator, just mouse 1/2/3 until they die. The whole thing stinks like they put no effort into it. No crouch is a shocking admission seeing as this is a game in which you can FIRE GUNS. Even unreal tournament a 'slick' multiplayer fps which is all about speed allows for you to crouch to gain accuracy.


I know rebellion designed the first AvP but they should have given the job to monolith (AvP 2), fear 2 may of been a dissapointment to some, but first impressions of this are a orders of magnitude worse. I hope i get to try the single player however one way or another, if only to see if the story telling and atmosphere can somehow wash away the awful gameplay.
 
Just had an awesome game as the only Alien against predators and marines. Got a 12 kill streak. :D

Finding always using the Alien's speed then focus, heavy, light is a good combo. :)

Still haven't worked out to use focus, which button is it? Shift doesn't do anything.

It changes the display but in a very subtle way.

Ironically, it makes things a tiny bit blurrier. :p


You need to hold it down, and you'll know it's working by a kind of orb around an enemy showing you are 'locked on'.
