i found it unneceserry because it takes time to salvage. what i do is travel to a group stop tractor as many as i can and salvage them it works quite well ie you salvage 1 as the next 1 arrives or fairly close at least
 
I might have made a booboo!

was just leaving a space station and there was a random wreck floating outside, no one else around at all. it had a yellow symbol.

had a look in the cargo hold and it contained a load of heavy weapons so i helped myself...... now it did warn me not to but i did anyway and it turns out i got about 2.5million isk worth of stuff (most i cant use yet as i need to do some training)

what are the consequences of this? am i going to get randomly attacked now?

still on my trial account so you can see i've not been playing for long, was planning on buying my first month on saturday.
 
You should see an agression cooldown timer at the top left of the screen - usually 15 minutes - within that time they can attack you in highsec without consequences - after thats run out they won't have kill rights on you - but they still might hunt you down.
 
You can go on your way and forget about that wreck, nobody will hunt you down over a couple of mill lol.

You are lucky you were not destroyed as soon as you took the stuff, the method is called can baiting and what they do is hope people like you take from the can and then they get their lame satisfaction by destroying you the moment you do thanks to the aggro mechanics that you stole from them.
 
I went back to my space station to do some fitting so I should be ok and there was no one around. Should be safe and the heavy missile launchers and widow maker missiles are mine! Training to use them now!
 
I've made quite a bit of ISK doing that, fly up to the one being attacked, wait til he pops, steal the loot just as you are warping away :D

Only done that with my pirate alt though.
 
you can make a shedload of isk in a empty hauler at the main gates in systems such as jita, wait for a suicide gank to go down and beat the attackers to the loot, you have to be quick though, this also works well outside jita and amarr the main trade stations
 
Might do some of that for fun. Saw a massive fight kicking off in one hi sec sector with loot everywhere. But chickened out in the ship I was flying. Didn't want to risk losing it :p
 
Nope meths. I've had aggression countdown on me a few times and all ways been able to dock.

Just hope to god they don't declare war on your corp (if it's very little obviously they won't) if that happens they can attack anywhere, concord won't intervene. Hi or lo sec.
 
i was in a crow at a gate recently where a geddon was popped for suicide ganking, i went to scoop his juicy tech 2 loot but my small cargohold was epic fail i think i got 2 guns out of a possible 7 and loads of armor mods etc were left behind.

Agreed, Just I don't have the cash at hand to readily replace whatever is my best ship at the time!
Had to borrow money from corp mates to buy the weapons for my Apocalypse. But it is worth it :D

I've been blocked from jumping and docking before after *recent aggresion*
 
theres a 30 second aggression timer, so the method is to disengage and recall drones remove any webbers or scrams, keep spamming the dock or jump button so you can escape.

When you get your head around the high sec mechanics it is quite easy to stay alive if you have a decent ship.
