The most you've spent on a first date

I remember my first proper date. What a disaster it was, but I saw the funny side. He took me to the cinema to watch Speedy Racer, because he thought it was the same sort of genre as The Fast and The Furious and films like that. It wasn't. It was a kids film and watching it was cringeworthy and we left about half an hour into it lol he was so embarrassed. Then we went to a restaurant and they had run out of almost everything on the menu.

He was mortified but I thought it was all pretty funny. I enjoyed it anyway, just the talking points on dates are all that are important to me really. I didn't see him again as my phone was robbed and I lost all my numbers and had to get a new sim (PAYG days) and I didnt think to transfer my number at the time. Oh well :) this all happens for a reason I'm sure, and I think he moved back to London anyway.

The first date with my current boyfriend was a free drink after work cause it has been an awful shift. I always said I would NEVER get involved with anyone at work but I was completely taken with this guy :) he was very interesting (and tall!) to me at the time so I risked it. Unfortunately there was a messy start because shortly after his first couple of visits to my house we got burgled, and when I was in work I recieved a phone call from my mother saying; "Where is he? I'm gonna string him up by his ******* ********!". Since my mother is pretty stubborn it took her a long time to realise it wasnt actually him, but all is well now, and it's all funny looking back. Well, maybe not for him, my mother is a psycho when she is mad.

Never really had a first date. Normally works out I pull them and I/they just hang around and it goes from there. Dates after being together £50-70 ish

Hmm.

First date? Had a few normally would catch a film and then go for some drinks :) so not that much really.

Don't really do dates these days? We both find it a bit odd going out and acting like a couple! Dates these days tend to mean going out for something to eat, she can never make her mind up so we always end up getting a take away and eating back at mine watching a DVD in bed :)

Fair play.

I dislike meals as first dates, would rather have some drinks and a light lunch or go see a film or just meet up on the fly kinda thing.

Meals seem dead formal to me, depends where you go of course.

I thought I was cheap going to Pizza hut but your first date was McDonalds and... you split the cost?!

Were you 12?

Nothing wrong with Pizza hut, I've taken two first dates there (and neither of them really went anywhere, D- must try harder)

The last one, I paid for the meal and the cinema afterwards. She had money out ready to pay for the film but I'd already flashed my plastic by the time I realised.

Damn!

:D

never really went on dates before i met my current GF

on the first date we went to a chinese restaurant and she paid. :D

bad thing is i paid the £200 plane ticket to see her

I am pretty easy going, so i don't mine. Sometimes its a bit of a risk as if you don't know the person as you could get in one of them awkward silent situations, so normally as a rule ill stick to a informal drink :)

That ones now over and done with haha :( So on the hunt for the next victim.

have you ever taken a bird to the ice rink or the tabogan run in plymouth? Iv always wanted to since first gettin there.
The few times iv planned the ice rink has ended up me staggering out union rooms with date into a taxi back to mine.

I'd much rather do something more casual, you know drinks and then do something :)

Depends where you eat / what you eat but meals seem quite formal.
