The most you've spent on a first date

I think my most expensive one probably cost me my dignity :D

In all seriousness probably about £150...about a third of that on travel though

Only ever been to one proper first date (though tomorrow I have my second one as it happens).

I think I spent about £20, just a few drinks at the student union and then back to my my place in Halls. Which reminds me, while in the kitchen having something to eat, the girl that I asked out a week before (and turned me down I may add) who lives in the next flat walked in on us.

I introduced them to each other, I will never forget the look on her face, I wish I had a camera ! lol

always priceless :D

good luck with tomorrow ;)

Once I spent an absoloute fortune, was about £300 which considering at the time I was a student that WAS a fortune.

Went out with this lass I had liked for ages, never really expected to have a chance more sort of an admire from afar deal and was never that bothered about it. But one day we got to talking and one thing led to another and we ended up deciding to go out on a date.

Being a student I had nothing special planned, there was this lovely little family owned Italian resteraunt (talking 15 tables or so) just near why my old student place was so thought we will go there. Had a word with the owner who I knew off being local and he got us the best table, candle light, personal waiter even chucked in a free bottle of wine, the works.

So this was going to cost me around £50 but I thought what the heck its worth it. Was a great night and we didnt want to end it, so we went for a few beers, which turned into a bottle of wine too. Then decided to go into town and hit the casino, bit of gambling and some more wine and the costs are hitting £200.

We ended up in the nicest bar in town drinking champagne which by this point the money was gone. Must have been around £300 mark like I said.

But the end of the night made up for it :p pity was that she moved back to Ireland a few weeks later at the end of term and nothing came of it.

Though happy with the lass now and can safely say that the £300 nights out are firmly behind us, pizza and a dvd with a bottle of wine! :D

Sounds like a good night. Not sure about hitting the casino. You might as well have painted a bulls eye on your wallet :p

20 quid and you got some tail as well? I was definitely sniffing around the wrong areas :o

First date with my current missus cost me about £40 in all...just went out for a meal then a few drinks...quite enjoyable and learnt that you dont have to spend hundreds of £'s on a lass to impress her...

Half and half.. start as you mean to go on ;) . Came to about £25 each on drinks in various bars (drank slowly because we were talking so much).

I've only ever been on two "dates" in my life.

The first, with my ex I ended up paying for his ticket as he "forgot" his wallet! I think I should've known then that I would end up paying for anything we'd want want to do.

The second, with my bf, I'm sure we split half food and petrol money. We only went to McDonalds so it didn't break the bank! :p He had to come across the country to see me though and being a skint student I gave him money towards petrol.

We occasionally have date nights, even though we've been together for over 4 years but I almost always pay for half, unless I'm seriously low on cash! He's in proper work, I'm only a student, it happens!

I'd hate someone to splash out mega big bucks for a first date, would just make me think they're trying to flash the cash to impress me, and it's not gonna have the desired effect!

Lol, I was 16, he was 20. It was the only place open, we spent all day talking that we didn't go out for dinner till after 10!

First date with my girlfriend was way back in 1994, no idea what it was, but it would have been the cost of two cinema tickets :)

£30 for a meal
£20 on gifts
£60 for the hotel room ;)

(plus about £60 for petrol there and back)

Worth every penny though, got our 2nd anniversary in April
