***Mass Effect 2***SPOILER THREAD***

Sovereign tells us in the first game that all the civilisations in the galaxy are tricked into taking the same technological path as the reapers to avoid them becoming more technologically advanced than the reapers. As for their true motivations we're still in the dark.

Legion and the "True" Geth could be great allies against the Reapers because of this. They refuse the path of the reapers and want to make their own future, and Geth tech is quite different from the rest of the major races.

I destroyed the Heretic Geth base, mainly due to wondering if the Geth would have become unstable with the thoughts of both Veil and Heretic Geth together as one.

I just wonder if Bioware might've gone a bit too far with that 1... there were 3 options, send Legion to Cerberus, Destroy the station or Rewrite the Geth. In writing its nothing, but the difference between them is huge and is going to create massive differences to the storyline.

It must be incredibly hard and laborious to bridge together all of the possible user decisions, especially the big decisions. I could image ME3 will be difficult to put together considering it had 2 games prior to it and counting the many possibilities in how ME2 finished and the heavy choices it gave you throughout the game.

Chances are the decisions you made in ME2 wont have that much of an effect on ME3 because I doubt it'd be feasible to really go into detail when you consider it.

Well you can see that already given the Citidel. They turned it from a huge station into next to nothing. And the Council didn't even exist in it thanks to the outcome of the last 1. All you had was a few unsubstantial references to them. But how exactly do you account for the Geth? It'll just end up with them not been in it at all and there been a few mentions on Galactic News or whatever.

Finally Tali's been unmasked!
:D

Surely they would have had the story already mapped out, so the consequences of choices are already known/established, but yea, it must be a huge amount of work to bring it all together for ME3

Thats brilliant

You'd hope so, but it'll just feel a little meaningless if the brunt of your decisions carry absolutely no weight in ME3. Look at the Council, theres some comments and the like, but ultimately your decision to save or sacrifice the Council really hasn't had an effect on ME2. The continuity is nice but they seem to be keeping any direct contact with it to a minimum. Look at the major decisions you had to make. You could blow up, rewrite or ignore the Heretic Geth, you could blow up or hand over to Cerberus the Collector station. Amongst others. The differences in the story could be huge, but if the Council is anything to go by it might just turn into passing mentions and seem like it really wasn't that big a deal.

I finished the game this morning, saved the Normandy crew and all the team survived, blow up the station.
Awesome, I didn't want anyone to die

Once again, the choices in this game continue to impress me.

I didn't know that if you had a romance in ME1, and continue it to ME2 (Ash or Kaiden) you do get to see them again AFTER the short meeting on the colony as long as you stay faithful.

I got it on with Miranda, causing Ash's picture to be face down.

Hmm...choices choices for my "primary" or "main" Paragon save game which I'll use for ME3 - do I stay faithful, get with Miranda or go with Kelly?

Tali :) I like her voice

I'd've gone with Jack. Can you imagine biotic sex? She could pin you down or throw you up on the ceiling... bit of S&M. Nudge nudge, wink wink. LOL. :D

I don't know if it's been covered before in the thread but as far as the Samara/Morinth thing goes, is there any way to reconcile the two of them?. Or do you have to choose between killing one or the other?.

Jack is going to be my "Renegade" choice - although I kinda feel that, as a renegade, I should be trying by best to get them all sorted out.

How does that work, BTW? If I knobble Jack, does that change your standing with Miranda or Kelly?
Also, if you have dinner with Kelly (which I avoided on my first playthrough, as I was trying to get with Miranda) does that effect your standing with either of them?
