Oops you may have a point there. I use XP myself.

I rolled it back to DX9 but it was, apart from the little arrow markers above people heads, giving me a totally black screen. One of the numerous problems I had with the DX setting as 'auto'.

Seems to have worked anyway so will leave it. :)
 
I still can't play this at all. Very laggy/choppy (probably down to 8800 GTS 640) but after a while everyone just stops moving and I get booted from the server or CTD. Rather annoying.

I sync at 24/1.3 and have no other connection grievances, just seems to be this game. I hope the full version resolves this.

q6600 stock, 4870 10.1 ccc. Everything on medium, 4xAA, 4xAF, HBAO & Bloom are off, Dx10.

Getting 40-60 (vsync'ed) FPS.

Surprised how dire the Dx9 mode looks though, really starting to show it's age. Can't wait for new consoles to come out it can be abandoned.

Great game though, wish it had a battle-recorder though, really want to rent a server ans start taking footage of our squad & start making some videos like in the good old days of 1.6 :D

I have an 8800GTS on Win 7 64 Bit. Quad core CPU.

Runs like a dream at 1680x1050, I do have all settings on medium though, but that's more down to the CTD than anything else. With settings on medium I haven't had any issues in over 8 hours play. If you're PC is clocked at all you should consider putting it back to stocks.
 
what is hbao anyway?

all high apart from shadows (low) i get 30-40fps on a 26+ looking at Construction site.

Q6600 2.8Ghz, 4850 CF, 667 memory 4Gb. 1680x1050.
 
I never noticed the types of damage vehicles could take, tanks get their side armour ripped off for example after a few rpg hits. I was scooting around in that little truck with the mounted mg on top earlier, took me a while to realise half of the back was away and the driver side of the front was totally torn away making me an easy target. :eek:
