I just installed sapphire version of 5970 and catalyst 10.1.

Vantage score:
3D Mark score 0 <--- lol wtf :)
16264 = GPU //Should be above 19k at least as I have been told
24975 = CPU

Unigine heaven benchmark, looking at the tesselated dragon with no AA in a small window = 14 fps

I just dont believe that a monster hemlock card cannot cope with this,
So I think it must be either a driver problem or faulty card.

The card is currently running stock speeds with fan at 55% always.

Should I try the earlier version of the drivers?
Or try something else?

Anyone who has this card, whats your fps like? looking at the dragon and vantage score.

Something is not right. My 5850 gets a 3DMark score of 12900 (approx) and I get around 12-14FPS with AA on x8 and tesselation (if my memory serves me well).

Check CCC and ensure it is not downclocked. Run Unigine Heaven in a window and check the values of the clock and memory.

Edit:What res you running at? Single Monitor?

ok thanks for that, I just checked CCC and on the slider it says 735, 1010
and the thing I didnt notice for current values it says 157, 300. WTF looool why the hell did it underclock itself that much.

Should I set it to 735, 1010, or go up slowly or what? first time overclocking gpu's

CCC under clocks the graphics card so it idles at lower speed, making the graphics card cooler and use less power(watts) saves wear + tear l suppose.

CPU > 4.0GB is good, thought you might have a bottleneck with a slow CPU (SPEED) and not getting the best out of the 5970 m8.

It's because while in 2D mode it doesn't need to go higher. Rest assured those aren't it's clocks in mid-game!!

I am running single monitor at 1920 x 1200

I just got some crappy score like 38fps on maxed out fullscreen unigine with tesselation.

I see in other thread people with single 5870 get more. :(

-Edit: Can someone please have a look if these numbers are right? like the memory clock aint it meant to be 4040mhz / 2 ?

Your Mem clock is right (4x1010Mhz = 4040Mhz) standard mem clock. Mine is exactly the same at standard speeds.

yare yare, that's what I get too when I run Unigine DX11 maxed out.

Re those with a 5870, are they running it at 1920x1200 as well? With maxed out AA? Are they running it dx10 or dx11?
It will make a great difference. Even ambient occlusion makes a big difference.

Im running 5970, everything max antialising at 8. with antialising off i get 58.4 fps.

Still my vantage score is a bit low I would say? -16264, I was running max everything in those tests though, what kind of AA people normaly run vantage on?
