Basically what the title says ...

I need some earphones, good quality, under £50 for my MP3 player, most of my must is a low bit-rate so no point spending more than that. Thanks in advance.

Had those, 5 times, all broken ... due to wear n tear... need better if possible.

Sorry to be off topic, but how long did they last before they broke?

Reason being when I get a portable media player I was looking at getting these because I cant really afford much.

The first pairs or 2 lasted about 8-14 months, the more recent ones normally have one dead ear after 3-6 months. it could be possible I keep buying bad batches or the supplier has fakes, I'm unsure.

Thanks for the link, I will check them out.

Goldring? Never heard of them ...

They just look like the Creative ...

Yes indeed they do look like the Sennheiser ones.

Since you you said you wanted some earphones for cheap, I think the CX500 fits the bill. Or the slightly cheaper version - CX300. They are very popular. Check the reviews to see how many there are :)

First you have to decide which sound signature you like whether you like lots of bass or lots of midrange or a balance of both.

I would definitely investigate head fi forums first, the best bargains to be had seem to be imports like soundmagic, head direct , brainwavz,
Mylarone.

Most of those are going to sound better than £50 worth of earphones from uk sites you can get some of the above bundled with portable headphone amps too for cheap prices.

Pretty sure you would like beta brainwavz pro for around £15 delivered certainly better than budget sennheisers.

+1 for CX500's. Can be had for £20 and under now and they're brilliant. Just got to watch out for fakes unfortunately.

You can get sennheiser cx500 for £9-99 delivered may aswell go for those.
Not my cup of tea though I don't like the muddy recessed midrange on senns.

Got 2 CX550 style 2s for £22 each and free p and p. Thansk for your help guys.

Now ...

... Anyone got a Zune HD?

Im in same situation as OP, i have just bought asus xonar essence, and now need to get some decent headphones, unfortunatley the 30 pound creatives would be spoiling it, but im quite interested by the look of Sony Mdr-v6

Woops sorry just realised u said mp3.

£20 Actually. Just got myself some about 2 weeks ago. Definetly not fake.

Yup £10 is more than likely to be fake. £20 is about the right price.

I have the V6 and they are great. I only use them at home though, use it for music and games. It might be a bit difficult to find somewhere that sell them though..but I assume you have found somewhere that have them.
Or you can get the bigger brother of the V6, MDR-7506.
