Yes - even Rebellion don't seem to have a clue as to what's happening. They fixed the PC version but nothing for the PS3 yet... :rolleyes:
 
Well i tried again thrid day of trying not even found any players let alone a game so looks like i wont play the game at all before it comes out at this rate

Ordered my copy before playing the Demo................. i do hope the game is better than the demo,

Really getting fed up of the new way of playing multiplayer, i sat for ages waiting in the lobby as it tried to find me someone to play with ; (

The service is fixed, has been since the day after the demo came out when they patched it up. You have set up your firewall rules I assume?
 
Well having tried the PS3 demo this morning, I think I shall be buying it on the PS3, just seems to work better and look lighter than the 360 version.

Maybe it's the mental block of the MW2 controls on the 360 ruining my enjoyment of it, but I got on much better with the PS3 version.
 
The demo didn't grab me at all. Infact they have probably lost more sales because of the demo. Although I can't help thinking they lobbed in the worst game type to show the game off.

Atleast a team based game would show off the marines a bit better, if you stuck together I imagine you would be quite hard to kill.

I think it will take a supermarket £25 deal to get me to buy this now.
 
Something I really like is the community this game seems to have, as you all know it takes a while to get a game at the minute. A few times now when me and a few mates have got a game we play or whatever and then instead of waiting forever for another game the guys we just played with will invite us into their lobby. Everyone seems to be really friendly too, I've got a few trophy kills on ppl and instead of the normal 'OMG YOU'RE CRAP YOU'RE TERRIBLE YOU'RE LUCKY' response you may receive on MW2 ppl are just having a laugh then coming back for more when they respawn.
 
The UK's Official Xbox Magazine has given Sega's Aliens Vs Predator a very healthy 8/10 - telling its readers the game offers 'superb atmosphere'.

The mag's review compliments developer Rebellion on 'clearly knowing the universe inside out', adding that the UK firm has created' an authentic an utterly terrifying Aliens experience'.

It adds: 'AvP isn't the prettiest game, but it has moments of striking scale and subtle detail that make it one of the most atmospheric.'

However, OXM notes that compared to the space marine missions, playing as Predator or an Alien is 'just not as good'.

'The alien is the weakest of the three,' it adds. 'It's difficult to fashion a narrative around an oversized, mindless insect.'

But don't let that put you off, AvP fans. Not only does the mag think the game offers a 'unique multiplayer' and 'the best bad guys around', but it writes: 'AvP is a nerve-shredding rollercoaster of a game and fans of the film will be more than satisfied.'

A bloody good game, then - and a bloody good read. The new OXM hits the shops this week.

I'm getting it on the PS3 so as long as it isn't as rubbish as the latest Wolfenstein offering which got universal rubbish reviews then I'm happy :)

To be honest that review just seemed like some douche trying to jump the gun and slate the game before anyone else. Not to mention some of the points which were made where just all out stupid, the main one was they complained the flashlight as a marine sucks. Thats the whole damn point! Atmosphere where your motion detector is buzzing but you can see anything and before you know it bam an aliens right in your face. 8/10 is what I would have said is a reasonable score. :)

Hehe nps just looked at my post and it sounded harsh :S Meant it to be lighthearted :) I know what you mean with the movement the alien = vertigo but its fun ^^ .
 
The Aliens combat never really works for me on the PC. Just feels clunky. The rest are ok but I feel like it was definitiley intended for a console.
