Sun pays £30,000 damages to Muslim bus driver accused of fanaticism

Being in the situation you described would not make me panic, I would sit there with a  expression on my face because "shock horror" not every Muslim is an extremist!

I'd think he was an idiot, interrupt him and tell him to do his job... personally. Whether or not it would make me panic or not... probably not - I didn't think terrorism until someone mentioned it in this thread.

Religion, sigh.

Very well said.
And if he couldn't be accommodated, then don't give him the job. He shouldn't have been employed if he couldn't fit in with the job.

But I also think he'd have got a smack in the chops if he'd have done that in the town down the road from me. And I have no problem with that.

And I'd have no problem with given people getting done for assault.

I don't see how prayer can be thought of as an act of provocation.

What you gonna do if I shouted Allahu-akbar every time I got on a bus? In fact some muslim kids do do this in order to scare passengers. Quite frankly if you're gonna get scared from some terribly formed connotations, you deserve to wet yourself.

But I think you'd see a militant unionist stopping because he decides his teabreak is now! as an act of provocation.
I certainly would.
Please stop appeasing the indefensible.

I'm going to hit you, you deserve it! And before you start bandying religious rights around, what would I get if I shouted "Jesus is Lord" in a Moslem country?

By saying praise god. I bring it on myself?

If you started shouting Allah every time you got onto a bus, yes you will have brought it on yourself should you have your head caved in.

What possible benefit could come from shouting on a bus? You know it's provocative, yet still do it.

What if I said the prayer to get on a bus. It will sound just as scary to the idiot. What you gonna do?

Steve, he's a provocative idiot, and one day he'll wish he had thought differently.
Until then, let him live in his "anything goes for the sake of multiculturalism" wonderland...

EDIT: Ghost, you are an didiot. This wasn't about the driver. This was about you shouting God Is Great in Urdu everytime you got on a bus. Stop trying to back away from what you said.

Okay, fair enough. Lets ignore the driver, even though it was supposed to be an analogy to the point of the thread, and people's resulting comments about aggressive action.

The idea that me saying loudly god is great in any language while boarding a bus is inflammatory is absurd. It is only inflammatory because of what people's connotations of the phrase are.

Something which is highlighted, by the kids that do this.

BS.
How would you react if someone did this in the aisle of a plane?
What he did was not normal and any Muslim would tell you the same.
Perhaps you should go educate yourself and understand how a muslim prays. It would be completely inappropriate and stupid to pray salah (an obligatory prayer - offered 5 times throughout a day) giving approx 5 mins before intending to blow people up.

Baffles much?

+1. Not all Muslims are going to blow something up. I find it funny how many people can stereotype just because someone prayed on their break.

If I prayed outside Buckingham palace at say 1'o'clock when it is busy, Would anyone kick me in the head then?

EDIT: @ Fox, Sunrise, Pray, After lunch, Pray, Afternoon, Pray, Evening Pray, Sunset, Pray. It's just how it goes in Islam, how our prophet (pbuh) did it. You can pray wherever you like aslong as you're cleansed, and the floor is clean.
