Looking at the lineup on the OcUK 5770 section and wondering which one to go for.

My current graphics card just died, looks to be in warranty but 2bh i was thinking of upgrading anyway... so warranty is at the forefront of my mind hence i was looking at the Asus ATI Radeon HD 5770:

Only thing is, this one is slightly faster (right?)... but only has a 2 year warranty period and is also cheaper!

If you were buying one which one would it be and why please :-)

Thanks,

I would go for the XXX edition as it uses the reference cooler which is better than the other ones. Also the warranty and slight overclock :)

......... Give them a call and see if there is an update on the ETA for the XFX. If you read the other warrenty stories on here, you'll see the deal - a new card from OcUK in the first two years - is a lot better than other people are getting when their card need RMA-assisance.

Also, I like the fact that the XFX cooler exhausts the air, rather than moves it around inside the case...

The reference cooler is much louder and not as good at cooling. The egg cooler is better ful stop. I wish I had realised this when I got mine.

I have the asus 5770 which hasn't missed a beat so far. And fomr the link at the start it looks like they've upgraded the cooler again which looks good. My preference is asus over xfx but that's probably more to do with me being a brand tart :D

The Asus one also guarantees your card for overclocking if you're into that!

Only non-reference worth getting is the vapor-x tbh.

+1 i own one they overclock like nutters and still keep very cool i run mine at constant 960/1400 and the temp never goes above 62 load ,idles at 34
load temp is only using furmark in game it's a little lower but TBH and IMO it depends on your case i have a HAF 932 and a big 230mm fan can throw air at the side of the card if i turn the fan on but it's cool enough never to need to.

I went for the club 3d just because of the price. It has the same cooler as you see in the picture and it seems to do a good job. Idles around low 40's and load is around high 50's. You also get the 2 year warrenty with ocuk which i think is on the plus side.
