Single 5770 is a good bit faster than the 4850. CF 5770 gives the 5870 a good run in many cases.
meant 5850

THink i'll get a 7700 with the option of another down the line.
xfire 5770 is a lot faster than a single EDIT 5850?
Not a lot, i would personally go for 5850 and overclock it. It has been shown that overclocked it matches the 5870 so the extra shaders are not that useful apparently. And they have the exact same tesselator inside, no loss there.
I think DX11 will be a struggle for 5770's. They are great in DX9 but I cant see how they could cope anywhere near as well as the 5800 with a core thats half the spec and 128 bit bus.

I think my CF 5770's will be better than a 5850 and almost as good as 5870 in DX11. If you meant one 5770 will not be as good as 5850\5870 in Dx11, then yes thats a given.![]()
My point is the 5800's will probably struggle with DX11, but not as much as the 5700'sPMSL

er....maybe the fact that the first generation of cards for a new directX nearly always suck at it by the time it comes round to being mainstream for games

just get a 5850.

Jus' like that.
Where's my Faz
Man goes to the doc, with a strawberry growing out of his head.
Doc says, "I'll give you some cream to put on it".
Apparently, 1 in 5 people in the world are Chinese. And there are 5 people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother Colin. Or my younger brother Ho-Cha-Chu. But I think it's Colin.
Sorry.
