GTX 285

£300 for a GTX285 is just mental, no offense.. The only top end NV card worth a shot at the moment is GTX295 if you insist on using NV.

EDIT- Bear in mind almost 20 months ago I paid £340 for the GTX280 which is basically the same card albeit 65nm with slightly lower clocks.

£300 including shipping + VAT.

Oh, and it came with a free game, just opened it :D

holy cow thats insane. i bought a GTX285 in March last year on special offer for £280 inc del, i'm half tempted to sell it now that i know how much new ones are going for. :p

You won't last long with that attitude. He's right you were bent over with that one. They are worth about £200-220 at the most. The HD5870 is much faster and also cheaper if you look around.

Im sorry, but after spending that amount of money, and it not even being relevent to what I was asking.

And I've just ordered a 600w PSU, so if anyone wants to tell me anything wrong about that is welcome to do so.

He started the topic with some question as how many watts my PSU is. He did not ask for any advice for ATI card over the Nvidia price.

The problem is you've just spent £300 on a video card that's out of date old tech.

The ATi 5850 is newer, faster and cheaper, with the added bonus of Direct X 11.

If you've only just received this card, then I urge you to send it back using the distance selling act. Then either get a 5850 for less or a 5870 for around the same price.

The above is all based on the presumption you're only using your new video card for games btw :)
