BC2 BETA... Your thoughts and SCREENSHOTS of it

Just the textures. I used to set DX to 9 but I set it to auto (DX10) now so I can use the AA. Couldn't do that before because it ran like a dog.

No change in FPS, using a core 2 duo at 3ghz with 4870 and 4gb memory

edit: I take that back completely, it doesn't dip at all anymore. You don't start off at 40-50fps, and then see it dipping into the twenties when the combat and destruction gets underway. It actually stays at a consistently smooth and high framerate. There is a BIG difference.

I would even say dual core owners probably don't need to buy quads anymore. Give it a shot, you'll be pleasantly surprised. I might even get the PC version over the PS3 version now! (The big plus was the PS3 version being consistently smooth)

AWESOME!

I've very happy about this, and I can't wait to try it :)

Oh please, any past BF title and a number of other games clean up in that category, dont think this game would make it into my top 10, its dreadful.

How many hours (minutes) have you played it for?

Also pleased to see they have fixed (well, at least it says so in the change log) the rubberbanding.

* Improved hit-detection
o We've gone through the hit detection logic, and client+server will now give more consistent results.

LOL

Carnt tell a difference at all, emptied half a mag into some people for them to knife you still

Fantastic, thanks - can't wait to try it out tonight!

I was contemplating buying a quad-core and thought my E6600 was showing it's age because it's was running like a dog. I'm happy I held back and it was just some CPU/GPU optimisations that DICE needed to carry out after all :)

You always get **** like this with fps though. I emptied a pistol into someones face and he managed to reload his empty shotgun and kill me during.

MW2 is similar. This is why hardcore was invented.

The tracer is pants in hardcore tho
Infact why cant they just improve hit detection in the "normal game" instead of giving everyone the hassle of trying to find hardcore servers

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be looking to set up a 32 player server for this but unfortunately you cannot run it on your own dedi at the moment so this will be a quite expensive (£32-45, depending on what supplier we use) additional monthly outgoing.

So basically I'm looking for some people that would be willing to go in on a monthly subscription with me. Ideally it would be about 3 or so other people so we basically pay 1/4 of the price each. I'd probably suggest that you paypal money to me and I pay for the server out of that (hopefully I can be seen as trustworthy what with all the servers I've ran before).

Is anyone up for this? You would obviously have full admin rights on the server, though if someone started to abuse their admin rights we would probably have to have a chat about it.

FrenchTart, who you looking at hosting with ?

I've not decided yet. I looked at a couple of hosts but in the past I've mostly just ran servers on my own dedi so aside from remembering that Inx are bad, my experiences with hosting providers isn't amazing.

Its never been an issue in any previous BF game, i dont see why it suddenly needs a hardcore mode if it was never needed previously.

Hasn't this been kind of thing been talked about before - BFBC2 != Battlefield. It's always meant to have been more 'arcadey'.
