No, they are not. TG doesnt count.

And why would you say that? i think it is the most fairest comparison you will get, stock for stock. Same driver track and conditions. Unless you know something i don't![]()

Actually, looking at those times, they do seem rather retarded. I mean, a 911 turbo is only 0.9sec quicker than a BMW 130. Just doesn't sound rightalso there is only 1 wet lap on that list.
Welcome to top gear
They also have a Fiat 500 faster than an Elise on the board.
There probably cheap cos the engine is dying... My engine died on mine 6 weeks ago. It had hardly any compression in rotar 1 and not much more in rotar 2, both apex seals and side seals failed. The car has always been well looked after and oil check daily and only has 43k etc..
Total bill for rebuild was over 3.5k for the engine new spark plugs £140 , new starter motor over £300 . Good job i took 2 years warranty when buying it or i would have been screwed! MPG i was getting was 16-18mpg no matter how or where i drove it.
Will i buy another? No
Would rather have an RX7, more power and engine seems to last longer!
Dropping my rotary experience in..... Rx7s are a lot less reliable because of the turbos. It's rare to see more than 60k on a stock engine and rebuilt ones tend to last even less than that. The rx8s however will do more like 100k but
many have gone prematurely because of problems
with the oil supply in earlier models. Mazda have rectified this in the r3 model but the trouble is once the damage is done from rubbish lubrication they are a ticking time bomb. Btw one of my mates works full time at a rotary specialist and I've had three rx7s in the past so do have experience in this field.
Right...*weighs up the cost of buying an RX8 and dumping a Mazda 3 MPS engine in..*...why didn't Mazda consider doing this![]()
Which rotary specialist does your mate work for?
60k is average for stock cars, many go longer than that.
