BC2 BETA... Your thoughts and SCREENSHOTS of it

they may have made it easier to level up in the beta. iv been playing bf2 for 3 months now and i havnt unlocked a single gun. first day playing bc2 i unlocked like 100 things

I think you have misunderstood me, i dont think that it would be right if we kept our stats. It is infact much harder to rank up than it will be in release (based on past evidence).

Also, in your '3 month' of BF2 you have only played for 8hours.

You've played for 8 hours without an unlock, excluding loading/various other stuff that's still 6 hours!

Get some squad play in on a 64 player map on 16/32 player server - massive points. Pretty much rank up every game for a week lol!

it had the potential to be the best to be honest, it fell short for me, the gunplay lacked the response and smoothness of older first person games, BC2 on the other hand seems impressive.

I noticed a few people saying they're not doing as good as they were pre patch, maybe it's because more people have decent frame rates now so can actually see what's going off :p

Yeah my framerate has hugely improved. Sniping feels a lot smoother, though the Tracer vs Apache is still ****ing hopeless. I'm really starting to get sick of those helicopters now.

Are you nuts? This has the worst gun play of any FPS I have played recently, they should have left it as it was in BC1, which suited PCs much better. Not only is the gun balance a joke but weapons are far too inaccurate, the ridiculous way your iron sights FLY about when your hit just makes it a game of who can hit the other first as only they stand any chance of getting a kill. You have stupid on shot GL's (seriously I don't see WHY thy were implemented, worked fine without them in BC1).

Most of the unlocks in BC2 are worthless anyway. E.g. I've unlocked 3 other sniper rifles and none of them are as good as the original.

Yea i don't get it either even the gun unlocks for assault the early ones are worse. At one point I unlocked various scopes for recon and now none of them work don't get it.

are you mad? BF2 and 2142 were released as a ****state, look at 2142, its appauling.
BF2 is hardly the most polished game even after all this time.
Look at the amount of patches actually released for either, its terrible and it definately isnt a testament to them, they didnt give a hoot about the community, look at the lack of community features etc each has compared to other games of similar times.
2142s friendslists etc is laughable, both have shocking server browsers, which is criminal concidering they are online only.
I would imagine one of the reasons BF2 had 1.5 patch released was so that they sparked the love for the BF series again before BC2 was released, I got nostalgic when I heard it had been patched and got it downloaded ASAP, didnt last many games but it got me remembering the laugh I had with a mate just mucking about doing silly stuff.
I would have played it a lot more if it didnt have so many problems though, 2142 was such a failure.

Look at support valve and blizzard give their games compared to dice have with BF, fair enough the source engine has been used in loads of games now but its because its constantly updated, as are valves older source games constantly little patches here and there.
Blizzards support of wc3, starcraft and D2.. thats a company that cares about its community, and its reaped the rewards with WoW and the fanbase waiting for SC2.

I wont give DICE any praise until I see the stupid little niggles and balance issues the game will inevitably have sorted with priority, as opposed to putting patching on a low priority list while they steam on ahead with their next project, which has always seemed to be the case in the past.

I must say i cannot comment on a lot of what you said as a lot of it is true, i am quite limited in respect of gaming experience as i have only been doing it a few years, as i said i came in to BF2 at 1.42, for me the game ran beautifully. No problems just hours and hours of fun!

However regardless of what you've said they seem to have released exactly what i look for in an FPS so for that they have my time and money!

That doesn't actually knock your aim off, so it doesn't matter who hits who first, just keep firing at them and the weapon will still be shooting straight.

Iv been playing it on the 360 for the past week and it seems perfecto.
Im fine with the aim flying all over when you get hit, its unforgiving and I feel that contributes to the overall team play - its about a real team push where you'v got to know where people are etc and cover each other so you dont get a random jump out and pick you off - he wont jump out if someones shooting in that general direction.
Grenade launchers shoot grenades - Im fine with dying in 1 hit off a grenade launcher... I wouldnt care if they wernt in the game mind, but nerfing them would just be wrong IMO.

I dont think BF lends itself to the spammy kind of FPS game where you get quite a lot of health, CS & Quake style. It lends itself better to a more realistic type of game as its much more team orientated.

For the record I was also impressed with the PC gunplay, even with a bad FPS i was really enjoying compared to other BF games, I was hitting things that I aimed at for once.
I dont think its 'broken' i just think its different to what certain people want. Works great IMO.

Should have said your playing on the 360, yes it is a great console game but its simply dire on the PC.

Every time your hit your aim jumps hugely, at least in something like cod you can readjust, in this you just dont stand a chance

Visually it appears so but you're still shooting exactly where you were aiming, took getting used to for sure but now every time I'm getting shot i just keep firing straight, trying to compensate for it is what gets you killed.

Hmm, that's certainly interesting, up till now I have been trying to compensate, doesn't really sound like that's what is meant to happen though.
