BC2 BETA... Your thoughts and SCREENSHOTS of it

hmmm, good thoughts there - certainly am ditching PKM and will try shotgun and piston more often than not. Habit I have is finding myself to far forward after getting a touch overzealous and then remembering I'm not Assault! lol

It's going to be awesome! Buy it!

The only reason I have been playing Beta is to at least get "used" to it as much as possible prior to release - and attending a small lan party on the 12th March featuring 90% BC2

Sadly what this game has also gone and done is ruin the perspective I have of how competent my PC is for gaming (or specifically this game. I still play BF2, L4D(and 2) plus a few others and just jumped into games, wacked res and settings up and away we go... BC2 however I have to have stuff on medium... MEDIUM! PAH! THE CHEEK OF IT!!

Q6600 @ 3.5ghz (all 4 cores are being worked) which appears to be fine, but my 9800GX2 is feeling a touch past it with this one....now time to raid the credit card for something new me thinks (**cough** Eyefinity... cough...) lol

As mentioned before, there is NO high settings in the BETA.
 
my mate wants to know how this would run on his pc. he has e8400 at 3ghz with 4 gig of ddr2 1066 memory. geforce gts 250 1gb edition his monitor is only 17inch. would be max this out on that res in dx10 with 4aa.

Epic shot! I've hit choppers before but never downed one - never hit the tail though?! Where's everyone else hit the chopper with a 'nade and downed it? I've only hit them from the front/side maybe 3 or 4 times?

About to go place my order with Game - knew those reward points would come in handy eventually! :D

Anyone asking about performance - mine ran well before the last beta optimisation with only 2gig of ram... My 4870 is 'only' 512mb aswell, all running stock speeds atm :)

Not doubting you at all Swi1ch, nearly everyone here is more clued up than me! Just that I have (under "Advanced Settings") options to set things like "Level of Detail" and "Texture Quality" to "High" - Does this mean the options are there, however setting them doesn't actually apply them?

(Having them set at high, reduces my frames given via Fraps btw)

As I said, not doubting you, just wanting to understand it for myself :)

The BC2 Devs posted a Twitter update or something, saying that while you can select High, it won't actually implement them. Check back a few pages and you'll probably find a link.

My grenade hit the tail too oddly enough, leading to a humourous few seconds as the helicopter began to turn forward towards the ground- cue a lucky escape for one of the pilots!

And I'm so glad I've preordered from Game, the early unlocks are invaluable- especially the alternate vehicle fire, m1911, and the tracer dart! Can't believe I'll be playing the full thing next Friday :D
 
For me my aim went to pot cause they did something with the mouse settings at last patch, for me I now have to have ingame mouse speed low and the razor upto 4000 dpi and it's all good

Speaking of alternate vehicle fire, I keep reading about the UAV having a machine gun on it, but have yet to figure out how to fire it. Anyone sussed this? And are we going to have our unlocks wiped or will we get to keep them on release date?
 
All ranks and unlocks are wiped, all you get to keep is your name, kinda glad as the unlocks we have will not all be available at rank11, you've gotta actually play more than 3-4 hours to get them! ;)

The UAV machinegun in the beta is console only AFAIK

Best couple of tags i've seen and nearly 2 heli kills... Just before 6 mins in - some great video footage and teamwork aswell! :)

Just ran into my first hacker, some noob with the name "magiconline". Was just standing on noob mountain with the pkm getting kills from insane ranges. Was barely even bursting just full auto for most of it.

Spamming the usual artificialaiming rhetoric. :rolleyes:

Oh to have the mindset of a mentally retarded 12 year old.
