Tv shows and films about freezing or manipulating the flow of time?

Oh yeah, must have watched that around 1997 going by imdb, also after looking it up i remembered another good old show which might bring back memories for some, Aquila! :D

Aquila is pretty good for a kids show even now, wouldn't it be cool if they made one like it or even Bernard's Watch but for older viewers, maybe a bit darker like The Butterfly Effect?

That's the film trailer i remember being advertised years ago, ill have to watch it sometime, doesn't have to be great, as long as its entertaining enough.

Yeah great film, well worth mentioning anyway.
 
The TNG episode "Timescape", the entire eipsode is about time freezing, speeding up going backwards. Its one of the best episodes as well, complete with a looney/crybaby Picard as time catches up with him.
 
Some of these aren't quite time manipulation though in the way im thinking, imagine having a device or ability that can only change the rate at which time passes, think like fast forward, rewind and pause on your video player, where you don't exactly skip about like time travel but just mess with it from the users perspective.

Yeah fair point, some of the films/shows mentioned are actually quite good so im not complaining, just wish there was a good show with this or similar as its main plot, i think it could be pretty cool with modern fx and show style.

I always loved the old shows like Aquila or sliders where some average person finds or invents a device or machine that can do cool stuff like manipulate time etc, sliders was good for a few seasons but went down hill from there sadly, can't think of anything else, superhero stuff is sometimes quite good but different from this.
 
Watch Primer - one of the best films I've seen for years :)

Certainly, it's the only representation of time travel I've seen which is even vaguely scientifically viable. Also fits nicely into your "some average person finds or invents a device or machine that can do cool stuff like manipulate time etc" box.

That was one of the great things about it :)

I didn't quite understand it all after I first watched it, but all the information was there. It took a good few hours of idly thinking about it at work the next day to figure out all the little intricacies. Great film :)
