The *Official* Eve Online Thread

My character race is Gallente Gallente and I've been using hybrid turrets with antimatter ammo so far because my cruiser (Thorax) gives a damage bonus on them but I'll shortly be upgrading to a battle cruiser for level 3's then a destroyer for level 4's

You do know the destroyer is weaker than cruisers and battlecruisers.

Flying level 4's you should really be in a battleship (preferably maurauder), or a strat cruiser.

I've flown alongside a kronos in PVE and it was doing pretty well.

Funniest PVE ship I've seen was a wyvern in an anomaly. It was an enemy ship, deep in enemy space, and we didn't have the numbers to take it + the two chimera that it had with it. :(

Should I stick with hybrid turrets or are there better weapons for PVE?

Also are certain weapons preferable for PVP or do you just go with whatever gives the highest DPS at the longest range?

you wont do lvl4s with a destroyer did you mean a battleship?

So wheres this rumour come from that they might be allowing MWD use in missions? A Blaster Kronos would be ******* awesome. :D
*frees up some powergrid*

Would be nice, the whole no-MWD thing is a bit annoying.

He's already said he meant a battleship :)

I would like some help with the buying and selling system.

ie can i sell across systems regions etc, is it worth the effort, should i just sell all at whatever i am offered in the system i am in.

can you do level 4s in a geddon?
I've wanted to get back into the game and wondered if I could do minny pilot with amarr kit (got all spec for lazers anyway)

Nah ive tried it in some missions and its not viable, your cap runs out because of all the travelling and the capacitor loss from fitting the mwd, you cant sustain a tank properly it is epic fail. Even with max skills

I think your selling orders are only restircted by how far buyers are prepared to travel to pick up the goods i.e. you set the price at which you're prepared to sell and it'll sit on the market until the sale expires or a buyer is matched to it. This includes NPC's as well I think.

I tend to put items on the market at about 1% below the average price for the region I'm in and leave it for a month.

If it's just cheap rubbish I've got from missions and no one is offering a decent price to buy then I've just been refining it into the basic elements and hording it cause I can't be bothered mining.

I'm sure others on here will tell me I'm doing things wrong though. :D

New Scorpion looks badass!

Take your stuff to Amarr or Jita tio sell, I usually sell my unwanted minerals to the person offering the most but make sell order for ships I build.

As said above you might aswell refine loot, anything you don't need or tech1 items or basic items and some named items you will probably want to refine. However certain mudules such as Rolled Tungsten Plates are good, these are as good as T2 but less skills. Internal Forcefield array is a damage control, almost as good as T2 but uses less CPU and there are many more. There is no strict rule but 99% gets refined once you can use most T2 stuff.

The problem is minerals don't sell for much, spend a few days getting skills and build T1 items and sell those + rigs for your salvage if you can but not essential.
