Anyway, this is not really the point. The tension between Libya and Switzerland goes back a long time and don't originate in the temporary minaret ban at all.

As for the minaret ban, the federal government will likely reverse the ban soon. And in any case, there is no definition of what a minaret is, so they can still be built but called something different. So actually, there is much more pressure in building minarets now, so the ban has entirely failed before it started. The UDC are also being taken to the European court of human rights (confusing since Switzerland is not yet in the EU, but it does try to get some of the benefits).
