Hey,
Any reccomendations on the following items:

1.) An external HDD enclosure that supports up to 1.5TB and has both USB and eSATA connections.

2.) A 1TB HDD to go in the above enclosure

3.) An enclosure for a portable 2.5" SATA HDD. I have one currently but the cable is mini usb to normal USB but then it splits to another USB for extra power. I don't like this so am looking for a new enclosure!

If the drive in the enclosure needs more than 500mA then you'll need to use a Y cable regardless of the enclosure.

Have you tried using the enclosure with only one connector plugged in? If that works just swap the cable for a single ended one, if it doesn't then it's unlikely that any other enclosures will work without a Y cable.
