NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 GPU Box/specs

Tons of GTX280 models state they require 42A....the reference GTX 285 requires 42A.....seriously, why are people making such a big deal about this? Did they really expect Nvidia's big monolithic launch model to be an eco-warrior's dream card?

Because they are ATI fanboys

Just in case you didn't notice...

You must admit though, no way is spending £400 on a grpaics card to get 4 extra FPS in a game which no one ever plays just seems to run benchmarks and post up there FPS to increase there e-peen is not right at all......

Not trolling just speaking the truth, if you had a dire PC and wanted an upgrade i could see it but selling a 5870 2 get 1 ????? LOL.

hi guy, i am a newbie to this forum, and i thought i could come in and introduce my name, cant wait until that card is released, would love to do a test run or even see some benchmark results.....

does anyone know when is the released date???

It all depends on how much disposable income you have. If you're earning £25k PA then I guess it's a big purchase. At £250k PA it's probably not a big deal... (I don't earn anywhere near that in case anyone thinks I'm trying to brag or anything!).

A better question would be... Why spend £200+ on an upgrade to Fermi (considering what he'll get back from selling the 5870), when you could get a second 5870 instead? Surely that would be a better price to performance tradeoff?

I paid like £440 for an 8800gtx on launch day and £460 for a gtx 280 on launch day. So I guess I expect paying up to £500 on launch day for a gtx 480. Sell the gtx 280 for about £150-£200 and it's not such a big purchase.
